Water, water everywhere...

So, as previously mentioned, during Dead Week (the week right before Finals Week, where technically the professors "aren't allowed to assign homework or give tests"...a week also defined as "bullshit" by many college students across the country due to the falsity of this claim.), I sort of stopped taking care of myself because of all the work I had ( Read more... )

Lol, oh no, not the mother-hen-mode! =P I'm glad I made you smile. :)

Isn't he wonderful? And isn't it great being able to have him on your ipod?! I wish I knew who made the header, though. I forgot to credit and have looked all over but CANNOT find it. :(

♥ Your icon, btw.

Except it's not so much encouraged these days. Now we're supposed to drink enough water so we don't feel thirsty, which might be four 8 oz. glasses for me, and might be eight 8 oz. glasses for someone else. Don't force yourself to drink that much water! (Another thing to worry about is "water poisoning," which means you've taken in too much water in a short time, thereby upsetting your body chemistry.)

Try drinking a glass of water with each meal and adjust from there. You'll need more in hot weather, especially when you're outside for long periods of time (marching band, anyone?)

They've quit saying that? Really? *rolls eyes* Figures.

Well, water poisoning is pretty hard to do, so I'm not too worried about that, but it's nice to know they've stopped encouraging self-drowning. Although, in all honesty, once I stopped paying attention, I DID drink that much water without any trouble.

Lol, marching band. A love-hate relationship: It loves to make me hate it.

Yeah, it's also based on your weight. It wouldn't make much sense for a petite woman to drink as much water as a tall guy. I think I usually drink five or six glasses a day, but I also drink unsweetened iced tea, so probably more like seven.

Well, the thing for me is, I usually barely drink anything at all, which is probably not great, so I figure an increase is probably a good thing more than anything else.

Damn is it fun when that screw off class ("Chemistry of Nutrition") comes in handy.

Okay, so yes, you're supposed to ingest 2 liters of water a day, but what isn't mentioned because, y'know media outlets are lazy, is that a hefty percentage of that water comes from FOOD. So you really need to drink like a liter or less.

Three cheers for screw-off classes! I actually found an article basically right after posting this that said the same thing, which is awesome, although I barely drink anything during the day, so I think I'll still try to drink a little more than usual.

Just not so much that I feel like I'm going to spontaneously float away. =P
