Welcome to the fourth chapter of the first generation of the West Legacy!! Let's see, last chapter Seth named Melody, Melody. They spent all day hanging out at the park, art museum (really interesting art) and movies. Melody had a very nice surprise waiting for her back home, an actual home! Seth proposed and the two had a private wedding :)

In the month or so that they were married, Melody decided to pick up cooking. She wasn't very advanced, since she was just now learning. All she knew how to do was make Autumn salad, but she was a fast learner, and she made a pretty mean salad.
She watched the cooking channel a lot to learn how to make things, though a lot didn't stick as it was too confusing for her to grasp right now. But she was catching on, and was determained to learn how to cook.
"This is good Mel!"
Seth, although it shouldn't have been too surprising, was very supportive of her. He bought her several cook books, helping her to learn different recepes - she really wanted to learn how to make hot dogs - and he ate her food, no matter if she burnt it or not.
"Really?" Melody smiled. "Thanks~"
Speaking of Seth, he continued pursuing his career in writing. He was currently working on a sci-fi book named The Emotionless Android. Yes, he had a bit of motivation from Melody, but it was turning out quite well. His editors thought that it had the potential of being a best seller.
"I don't understand why he keeps confusing her with her twin." Seth frowned. "One has blue eyes and the other has green. And one has a mole on her right cheek! Obvious differences. This movie has absolutely no plot at all."
Melody loved watching movies with Seth, mainly because he critiqued everything they watched. She often found herself watching him more than the actual movie. Especially during romance movies.
But that might have been because Seth had a hard time keeping his hands off of her, and Melody had a hard time saying no.
"I love you Melody. And if you had a twin that looked nothing like you, I would definitely be able to tell you apart and not confuse the two of you. Even if you guys looked exaclty alike, I'd still be able to tell the difference." Seth reassured, not that she needed it.
Melody giggled, wrapping an arm around his neck and placing her forehead against his. "I love you too Seth. And I'm glad you'd be able to tell us apart."
The honey moon phase was quickly over though, when Melody found herself sick to the stomach, and running to the bathroom more often than usual. She'd never thrown up before, so it scared her a little when it happened. She stayed at the toilet a while, while her stomach settled down.
She climbed into bed, much later than Seth had fallen asleep. Gently pulling back the covers, she carefully climbed into the bed as her stomach was still churning.
"Mel? Are you just getting to bed?" Seth asked sleepily.
"Yeah." Melody whispered. "Go back to sleep."
Unfortunately, she was barely in bed two seconds before she was back up and running to the bathroom again. Because of that she got no sleep, and it carried on for a few weeks.
Because of her late nights, Melody often slept throughout most of the day. Seth would sit next to the bed, very much worried about her. Whenever he asked what was wrong, she would skirt around the question or just tell him that she was okay when it was clear she wasn't. It worried him quite a bit, but there wasn't really anything he could do about it.
Soon Melody began to outgrow her clothes. She was close to panicking now. Standing in the doorway of the kitchen, she touched her growing stomach, tears silently sliding down her cheeks. She was conviced she was dying.
Seth found Melody curled in the corner, crying. It'd been super quiet in the house today, and he had wondered where'd she'd gone. Of course, when he found her, he panicked.
"Melody? Sweetheart what's wrong?"
Melody nearly jumped to her feet and launched herself into his arms. "Seth! I think I'm dying!" She cried, tears now falling full force.
"What do you mean?"
"I-I'm getting bigger. A-and I k-keep throwing up e-everything, even though I eat s-so much. And I s-sleep a-all day!"
Seth went through the symptoms in his mind, and then pulled away from Melody a bit, smiling. "Baby, you're not dying."
"A-are you sure?"
"You're probably pregnant." It made a lot of sense, though they would still need to take a test just to be sure.
"P-pregnant?" Melody sniffed, lowering her gaze. "S-so I'm n-not dying?"
"No, you're not." Seth shook his head.
He pulled away even more, only to bend over and touch her still-flat belly.
"I'm growing a little you!" Melody now giggled, the last of her tears drying up.
Seth smiled, looking up at her. "Yeah." he said softly. "A little me."
"I love you." Melody said, pressing herself back into Seth's arms.
"I love you too." He said, holding her close.
"I think I hear it kicking!"
"Seth!" Melody laughed, placing her hands on her hips. "You can't hear anything yet."
"No, I'm pretty sure I can hear it."
He pressed his ear closer to her stomach. "It's saying it loves you."
Melody laughed, shaking her head. "You're silly."
When Melody did start to show a bit, Seth was all over her. He'd been like that the whole pregnancy, but now that she was actually starting to show, he doted on her more now than ever.
"I felt it kick!" He gasped.
"Yeah. That happens often." Melody smiled.
The two eventually bought a few books in order to educate themselves on the whole pregnancy process.
"I have to be pregnant for nine months?"
"The baby is born how?"
"That looks painful." Melody commented.
"Explain to me again whose idea getting this movie was? The Miracle of Life? It sounds painful."
The pregnancy went rather smoothly, with no real problems at all save for Melody's constant bad back, which Seth took care of with messages. So it was a bit of a surprise when the big day finally arrived.
"Ahh! S-Seth! It hurts!" Melody cried, clutching her stomach and doubling over. "The book said nothing about how much it would hurt!"
"A-alright! Don't panic!" Seth said, though he was having a hard time not panicking himself.
"I can't!" Melody breathed. "It hurts!"
"We have to get you to a hospital!" Seth said, holding out his hands. "Come on! I'll carry you if I have to!"
"It's too late for that!" Melody snapped.
After a few hours, the baby was finally born.
Melody changed into her pre-pregnancy clothes and held her new born baby close.
"Seth." She breathed, looking down at the baby. "He's so tiny."
"Yeah. That's how babies are." Seth chuckled.
"What should we name him?" Seth asked.
"Oh. Umm, how about Gary?" Melody said, looking at the baby boy. "He looks like a Gary."
They barely had a few minutes from sitting Gary in his crib before a wail pierced the air.
"I'll go." Seth said, closing his book and standing.
"Hey champ." Seth leaned over to pick Gary up from his cirb. "What's all the fuss about?"
He rose the baby in the air, earning some giggles. "There we go!" Seth grinned. "No more crying baby!"
After feeding him, he put the baby back to bed and returned to the couch with Melody.
The first year passed by rather quickly, and soon it was Gary's birthday.
"Hey man. Ready to turn one?" Melody asked, raising him into the air. "Ready to be a big boy?"
"We still have a few years for that." Seth chuckled.
Melody carried Gary to the cake, tickling his tummy gently while Seth cheered in the background.
"This is so exciting!"
"Time to blow out the candles." Melody leaned over to blow out the candles while Seth clapped, still obviously excited.
Meet Gary West! He's a super adorable toddler, who is absent-minded and disciplined. His favorites are lime, tri-tip steak and pop music.
The family quickly settled into a routine. Melody often read her cook books, Seth worked on his book and Gary played with his peg toy.
"Mama! Come wookit!" He called excitedly. "Da bwock fit dis time!"
Melody closed her book and crawled over to Gary, sitting down in front of her.
"I pwut the wewwow bwock in da wight sape?"
"Uh-huh. It goes in this one." Melody said, pointing to the triangle shape.
"Awe you sure momma? I fwink it goes in dis one." He said, looking up at his mother curiously.
"I'm sure Gary." Melody laughed.
"Otay mama~" Gary started to put the block into the hole, and then thought up something else.
"Da bwock tase much bettew!" he giggled, chewing on the hard block.
"Come on buddy. Time to go to sleep."
Melody took Gary into their room, changing him into his pjs.
"Nooo! Mama, me no wanna sweep!" Gary protested when Melody placed him in the crib.
"But you have to sleep to be a big boy. You want to be a big boy, right?"
"No!" Gary whimpered. "Me wan stay up wif you and daddy!"
"You have to sleep. I'll see you in the morning, okay?" Melody leaned forward to kiss his forhead gently. "Night Gary."
"Night night mama."
