This is the very beginning of a story I'm working on. Let me know how you like it~ ^^

“I’m sorry Haven. There’s nothing we can do for your mother.” The doctor says, his eyes cold and emotionless.
Haven shakes her head, backing away. “There has to be something you can do!”
“The cancer has spread too far. There’s nothing we can do.”
“You’re wrong!” She cries. “There has to be something you can do!”
“Haven.” The doctor starts, though he is interrupted.
“No!” Haven screams, clutching her ears as if to stop the words. “Stop it!”
“She’s dying Haven!” The doctor snaps. “She’s dying and you can’t do anything to stop it!”
“You’re lying.” Haven whimpers, shaking her head and backing away.
“Haven…”
“You’re lying!” She shrieks. She spins around then, not giving the doctor a chance to respond as she takes off down the hall to her mother’s room. Several nurses and doctors look at her in shock as she pushes past, not bothering to use her manners in any way.
She finally makes it to her mother’s room, breathing heavily, her hands shaking terribly. Slowly she approaches her mother’s bed, trying to gather the words together in her mind before she can say anything. Tears fill Haven’s eyes as she looks at her dying mother, laying asleep and motionless in the hospital bed. The tears blurred her vision as she reached out to touch her mother’s cheek gently. She finally gathers the courage to whisper, “I love you mom,” before she turns and runs out the room.
