we're all a part of that shifting mass of people....it's just the perceptions of us that change. does it matter what people's memories of us are? after all, they were never going to stay there forever; and as you've noticed the speed at which we fade off into the distance is getting ever swifter. the prima dona culture of not just st mikes but the world in general means that to be truely remembered, for good or bad, something quite spectacular has to happen....usually spectacularly bad. everyone knows hitler, and yet i struggle to think of anyone who is remembered on the same scale by doing something good. such is the way of the world. you would rather be infamous than forgotten? i suppose there may be some glamour in being infamous in st michaels, but i doubt it would be of much use to you. moving onwards and upwards, therefore, is the only course of action.
