There's some things going on where I have to make my friends only also. How tedious was it to go back and "friends" your old posts?

It was pretty damned tedious, I'm not going to lie. But much less so than I expected. What I did was use a downloaded client. From there you can "view history" and you'll see all of the posting dates highlighted. From there you just double click each one and switch anything public to friends.

I hope nothing bad happened. Fortunately in my case I'm doing this as a precautionary method.

I was sorry to see that you went Friends Only. I'm a online friend of Bill's and nexussix and would pop over to your journal occasionally to read the other sides of Bill's stories or crack up over the comments. I had heard that about Bill and his wild fangled tall tale telling ways. It's good to have someone out there who is brave enough to tell the truth about these things!
