I have not seen the offending ads... so I just did a quick google, and instead turned up lots of pages of yummy looking chocolates. Am now drooling. ;-)

Looking at the blurb I suspect the creative team decided to market towards men buying for women rather than women buying for themselves.
Very shortsighted of them (is it just me or does it read like some of the more offensively laddish bits of Firebox?)
