All About You
1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!
My ideal home would be a 2 floor penthouse with a swimming pool, situated on top of an 80 floor building in the center of Tokyo, Japan. I love Tokyo for all the modern reasons; the mentality, the religion, the technology, the cars, the many high buildings and flashing neon lights. Tokyo has access to the sea as well, which is another thing I love. I don't care much for interior decoration. I think it would be something simple and modern, but with a lot of lush carpets. My living room would need to have a lot of huge windows, whilst my bed room (my sanctuary) would have a tiny little window which would be boarded up completely. I need total darkness in my room to be able to sleep properly and to work on my digital drawings. Traditional drawings I'd work on in the sunshine-filled living room. I would also have a big kitchen. I love my kitchen, though ironically I don't like cooking.
2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
Death. Personally I am not afraid of dying, but I can't stomach the idea of seeing people whom I love dying before my eyes. The idea that one of the people I love might not be there tomorrow to talk to, or to laugh with is quite distressing to me.
Fire. Again, I am not afraid of burning myself or burning to death. I am afraid of a fire burning everything I cherish. My computer/DVD's (which basically house all my drawings and works), my library (I venerate books), and my beloved PS2.
Failing to draw/paint something. I am afraid of being unable to draw a hand or a face in a position that may come to my mind.
3. What is your favorite aspect of your physical appearance and why?
My hands. I love hands in general. I love the complexity of hands, and how beautiful and expressive they can be. My hands have long slender fingers, and I find them to be aesthetic and expressive.
4. If you could change one thing about your physical appearance, what would you change and why?
My hair. I happen to have quite weak hair of a boring brown color. I'd love to have thick straight black hair.
5. Imagine you're given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
1. My first wish would be that all the people I love should be safe and healthy for the rest of their/my life. I would not wish eternal life for anybody because I believe that's a curse.
2. The ability to fully control Fire. I always loved and feared fire. I'd love to be able to control it.
3. Moderate wealth. Too much of everything is bad, but a little more money is always welcome.
6. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
Becoming an artist. It may seems silly, but my mother was determined to make a professional pianist out of me, which I really hated. It took a lot of self initiation, perseverance, and a lot of drawing on every piece of paper I could lay my hands on for me to get my wish fulfilled.
A close second is earning money with drawing, and being able to support my family financially.
7. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you?
Love, assuming that "Love" in this case means the ability to love and be loved in return by your family, friends etc.. Knowledge, is a close second, but not a first place because even though it's *very* important, knowledge won't keep you warm when you are alone. Nor will adventure, money or pleasure. So I'd definitely go with Love. And the least important I'd say is Adventure. I love leading a boring life.
8. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values?
"To be pleased with one's limits is a wretched state."
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
This quote fits quite well with me, because as soon as I finish a drawing I wish to start a new one and do it better this time, or more detailed, more complex, or simply in a different style. The day when I'll say "okay I am satisfied and I don't wish to learn anything new in Art" will be the worst day of my life.
9. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you?
I handle money carefully in general, always thinking about the next day, and only buying stuff I really need. The only times I treat myself to something which I want, but don't really need is when I have a surplus of money. Financial security is very important to me. I need to know that I am able to deal with unexpected problems (health problems etc.) without throwing myself into a life long debt.
10. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
Drawing fanart. I love drawing fanart to novels, games or fanfics. For me, it's the best way to relax.
Reading. I love reading books and fanfics, but I especially love to listen to Audiobooks whilst drawing.
Watching movies/Discovery Channel with my family. In general I care very much about my family, so I enjoy spending time with them in any form, especially watching a good movie in the evenings.
Playing games on my PS2. Most games I play are highly inspirational, as such I see the PS2 as a good source for new ideas/fandoms.
11. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical).
Best
Devoted to family. I interact daily for multiple generations, and their welfare is a prime concern to me.
Loyal Friend. I choose my friendships carefully, and am there for those friends in whatever way they need.
Self-Disciplined. My work has flexible hours, but I balance it and family responsibilities along with my personal time.
Worst
Quick to anger. I don't accept challenges to my authority, but I get over my anger quickly.
Moody. I have times when I'm angry, times when my creativity won't come, times when I'm not sleeping well. etc.
Self-indulgent. When I have the opportunity, I reward myself with things like playing the PS2 for hours, chocolate binges, or technology upgrades.
A Song of Ice and Fire Related
1.Which is your favorite book of the series so far? What about your least favorite?
My favorite book is AFFC because it had a lot of new character POV's including my favorite chapters with the Ironborn, and the Martell's. Least favorite would have to be AGOT, because I felt it as having a slow pace, and focusing too much on the Starks. This doesn't mean of course that I don't love it.
2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series?
I'll interpret "favorite" in this case as "whom I find most entertaining/intriguing, and feel the greatest desire to draw".
Euron Crow's Eye - Because he is this very sexy and cunning villain who will probably do more damage than anyone could ever expect. The psychological warfare he wages on everyone around him, makes him the more intriguing in my eyes. I'd love it if this character would have a chapter of his own in the next books. I'd like to see how he thinks.
Jaime Lannister - I found Jaime's lines (early in the book) and his chapters later, to be highly entertaining and I am very curious to see where he will end up. The slow transformation he is going through made me enjoy his character even more, and I really hope that he'll have a happy ending...preferably with Brienne.
Ser Gerold Dayne - Yes, I have a soft spot for evil ruthless guys. I loved Darkstar's haughty attitude and the self assured way he spoke and acted in general (but especially around Arianne). I also love his sarcastic humor, for it shows just how frustrated he is deep inside. The fact that Prince Doran called him the most dangerous man in Dorne made me like him even more. I want to know what was in this mans head when he attacked Myrcella. I want to know his plans, his ambitions, and his final fate.
3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series?
Daenerys Targaryen - I loved her in the beginning but now she starts to turn into a petty princess. She also starts to resemble more and more a stereotypical fantasy heroine, who is close to invincible, and I dislike the latter transformation more than the former.
Joffrey Baratheon - He was an insufferable, cruel brat. Considering who his mother was, I guess that isn't surprising, but his endless cruelties were too much to bare sometimes.
Cersei Lannister - I dislike her for all the obvious reasons. She is shallow, paranoid, and utterly stupid. Her conclusions on certain problems and situations which arise are sometimes painful to read.
4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far?
My favorite scene depends on who my favorite character at the moment is, so I can't give a definite answer.
When I loved the Martell's, my favorite scene was the first meeting between Prince Oberyn and Tyrion, Prince Oberyn talking to Tyrion in the black cell, and again right before the battle with the Mountain. Doran talking with Tyene and later with Arianne are a close second.
When I loved the Lannister's, my favorite scenes were the ones between Tyrion and Tywin, and later Jaime's loss of hand by Vargo, Jaime rescuing Brienne from the bear-pit, and Jaime meeting up with Daven at Riverrun.
And now, when I love the Ironborn, my favorite scene is the one where Euron is 'dressed' in the sable cloak telling Victarion about his plans to send him after Dany. A close second is the first meeting between Euron, Asha and Victarion in Victarion's tent, and later Asha's talk with Victarion outside.
5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end?
The Stark family reunited (at least partially, since I believe that Arya will never again be a full Stark). I want to see Bran, Rickon and Sansa together again. I'd love to see Sansa betray Littlefinger and become the lady of the Vale, and Bran the lord of Winterfell. I wish to see Winterfell restored to it's former grandeur. I want Cersei dead by Jaime's hand, and the Martells to have at least a part of the revenge they so crave. Dany being queen I guess would be unavoidable, but I'd prefer if she'd perish as well. I don't really care who becomes king or queen of the Seven Kingdoms. I want a happy ending for Tyrion, Brienne, Jaime and Arya.
