So Sad.
The half hour pre-finale show made me sad. Once again the main reason that I watch the show “Brian and Justin” were barely mentioned. To me it seems like Brian and Justin were some dirty little secret. I guess they feel if they talk about the show in general and how wonderful it all was we will forget how much Brian and Justin meant to us. If the stories they told about gay people were true I am glad that some one got something out of the five years. I only wanted to see Brian and Justin together at the end. I guess that was too much to ask.
In my opinion this episode killed the entire series and made it a pointless waste of time. As a long time Brian and Justin fan I should be used to the ridiculous dialog and complete lack of respect for the audience’s intelligence as demonstrated by these writers since season two. But this episode was the worst ending ever for any television series. I know that I am not alone in my affection for Brian and Justin. They are the reason I have watched for five years. Gale Harold and Randy Harrison’s portrayal of this beautiful romantic couple was so compelling despite the lack of growth of the characters that they were able to drag this dismal show through 82 and one half episodes I will never forget the way they gave their all to make Brian and Justin believable for me. Unfortunately the writers/producers Cowen and Lipman did not follow through with a decent storyline for them. Since season two they have used the characters as bait to get ratings for their show and nothing more. They teased us for five years and in the end when they were sure they didn’t need ratings they dismissed Justin and reverted Brian back to square one. The only thing I will ever remember about it is the horrible way it made me feel at the end.
Gale Harold and Randy Harrison are the true geniuses behind any success QAF enjoyed. I hope they have very long and successful careers. I will never understand what happened to the characters in this episode. The series should have ended with episode 510. That was a beautiful ending for Brian and Justin. The rest was just a slap in the face for the fans. It’s a shame that the producers/writers did not recognize the importance how special Brian and Justin were to the audience.
With different writers and a more positive attitude this show would have been such a joy to watch. The acting for the most part was always top notch. I look forward to seeing the actors in different roles in the future.
