I am a bit floored by the revelation that a former middle-school classmate is now a regular on one of the big daytime soaps, among other roles. It's usually a bit of a jolt to unexpectedly run into someone you knew long ago, weirder to realize that you accidentally rented a movie that they had a starring role in, and never realized who it was.

Late comment, but in the middle of June, I had exactly the same experience, learning that one of my best high school friends is a principal at Seaside High school now, and the student body president when I was a frosh at York is the new CEO/Pres of the NAACP. He's only 35! I feel like I truly know the president of the US! I remember him telling us, later when we were juniors and he came back to speak about college, that he didn't think it was necessary to read every bit of literature for all his classes; he chose what he thought was important to read.
