Reminds me of a time at ConFurence 7 or so, circa 1997.. ^_^ Whilst most furries have always either made their own fursuits, or commissioned them, there was a period around then where Marylen's wares proved quite popular, being very affordable (a couple hundred dollars, versus anything from a thousand upwards for a commission) whilst also being quite good looking. At one point, there was a mini conga line of some four Marylen huskies by the pool. =:)
Thankfully, I imagine there probably won't be too many "repeat" characters, simply because people will be well aware of the likelihood of being seen to be identical/have an identical companion, if indeed it's not precluded as in well run RPGs or SL, where the core characters of a show will tend to be fenced off from being available. Certainly, looking into SL as a scrying glass, there's actually very little repetition of popular characters - everyone tends to want to be their own thing, which SL makes appealingly easy. There are many basically like me - the erstwhile Kani, by Uchi
