As evidenced by the amount of time I actually spent online today after I said I wouldn't, it is clear that I overestimated my ability to stay on task - hence the house is still a disaster, but the dinner is beginning to look like it will get cooked okay and on time after all. And maybe I'll be able to get the house at least moderately visitable

This happens sometimes. I always say I am not going to turn the computer on again but often find I have to and like you need to check everything while I am on.
