New Computer - MacBook Pro

So I couldn't resist getting the Intel Core Duo MacBook Pro. It was expensive, and two of my paychecks immediately disappeared, but it's a computer that works like a dream. I also installed Windows XP through Desktop Parallels. Today, I had open several Mac programs and also a few through XP, and it didn't slow down my machine at all. Now, I just ( Read more... )

Oooh, I'm so jealous! That's great that you have an awesome computer! And good to know that you can run a few Windows programs at the same time as Mac programs without any problems. Man, if I ever get a laptop, it's so gonna be a Mac...

I love this new computer to pieces. I don't even need a desktop at this point. The resolution is very good, I have a glossy screen (one of the free options) that renders graphics comparable to an actual computer monitor (instead of the kind on most laptop monitors). My MacBook Pro has 4 GB of RAM, and the processor speed is pretty decent, so I don't ever really experience any slowness at all. Coherence Mode on Desktop Parallels makes the Mac and PC seem like it's all the same machine. I will have a Windows toolbar at the bottom of the screen, but then when I put the cursor even further down, the Mac dock menu pops up. My boyfriend was so tempted to get one! If you ever are considering a high-end, reliable laptop, get a MacBook Pro. :p

(It also has a remote control! :O)

What did you guys think of the remote control? I thought it was FUN! Sean and did a double take when the screen rolled back and brought up the menu. XD

Thinking of getting an iMac? That's a good idea. :D I was originally thinking of a desktop too, but I've been carrying my computer around back and forth from work everyday that a nicer laptop seemed to fit me better.
