He couldn't find Lux but it's fairly early and he's coming right back. No harm done. Kate's getting herself sorted and Baze stands on the steps of the compound, waiting for her. He's not sure what's going on here but he's always been pretty good at pushing his luck and she did look beautiful while she was dancing

Kate just needs to check up on Charlie and make sure she hasn't gone into labor or anything before she can leave. That done, she makes her way over to the compound steps, pausing for just a second to watch him. Maybe this isn't a good idea, but he's just walking her home. Plus, Kate saw him at the party. He's going to be in no shortage of female companionship when he comes back. He's just walking her home.

"Hey," she breathes, hopping up to the first step. "I'm ready to go."

When he sees her, he smiles, hunching his shoulders a litle bit as he turns towards her. "I was starting to think you'd stood me up."

"For our super hot walk home? Never," she says, stepping back down and turning down the path to the Hamlet. "You have fun tonight? The one for New Year's Eve is really crazy."

"You're mean, you know that?" He shakes his head, giving her a mock-reproachful look as he falls into step beside her.

"Yeah, you know, I did. I get to go to a birth."
