Who: Altaïr Ibn La-Ahad (
bladeinthecrowd) and Ezio Auditore da Firenze (
idkmybffdavinci)
What: Despite all care taken to prevent as such, Leonardo gets kidnapped by Ezio's enemies. Immediately he sets out to rescue his friend accompanied by his elder Altaïr... who witnesses a side of Ezio he's never seen before.
Warnings: Violence and blood.
They had taken so many precautions to avoid an event like this. They had been so damn careful, both of them, and yet...
Ezio stood in the doorway of the ruined workshop, feeling numb as he stared blankly about at the destruction. Various inventions, both completed and in progress, lay shattered and broken on the floor and tables. Maps and plans had been torn to shreds, some even burned. The chess board they had procured for idle moments lay upside-down on the floor and the various playing pieces were strewn around, many of them damaged from the force in which they'd been sent flying. And there was blood. Small traces of it, admittedly, but there was blood.
Slowly he strode around the place still giving no reaction; gloved fingertips traced a gash in one wall undoubtedly created by an axe missing its mark. More blood splashed across the floor and tabletop. If it was Leonardo's there would be hell to pay. Eventually his eyes came across a small piece of paper folded up on the tabletop and he picked it up, reading the contents in silence.
If you want him, come to the gallows at dusk. Trade your life for his.
The note dropped, fluttered slowly to the ground and landed lightly on the floor. He raised one foot and brought it down ont he note, crushing it beneath the heel of one leather boot. His hands clenched into tight fists, clenched until his knuckles turned white and his fingernails bit into the soft skin of his bare hand. His expression was like stone, cold and and inexpressive though both his eyes and aura screamed of undeniable rage. If they wanted him, they would have him. And they would meet their deaths for even daring to cross him in such a way.
There was an hour before dusk. If he was lucky he could track down his friend's captors before the designated meeting time and rescue Leonardo before his life was ever put into jeopardy. With that in mind he turned swiftly and moved back out the door, heading back into the city.
