So last night I'm in bed reading a book about a fictional serial killer and was suddenly confronted by a slightly tipsy Wewelsburg coming home from a downtown bar after about six beers. He told me about this post (which I hadn't read yet - oops) and then mercilessly quizzed me about my knowledge of Nietzsche. He's bracing himself against the door jamb for balance and fixing me with an intense and demanding stare and it's just like I'm having a dream about being in high school again and I've forgotten I have a test. Have I studied? Negative. So I confessed bravely that I only knew one thing about Nietzsche and trotted out the overused abyss quote and hid my head in shame. God, I'm shallow but I do have an interesting life. (Thanks to the self aware people I make sure to surround myself with.) ;)
Everyone is ultimately alone, but meaningful exchanges can be made just the same if you know where to look.
