Who's going where? April 15th edition

Apr 15, 2010 13:03

There's also a thread from earlier, but I figured that it won't hurt for us to repost (or post anew). Congrats all around...and fingers crossed for anyone still hanging on a waitlist.

I'm headed off to Berkeley this fall. There's at least one or two other Berkeley acceptees in wgi this year, so I hope that I will see you there!

Thanks! I really do hope we get to meet up at some point. There is a lengthy post coming up to describe the back story.

Thanks to you all for guiding me down the twisted labyrinth of decision making!

Congrats--and *hugs* I know what a tough decision this was for you...but at the risk of sounding clique, I really don't think that you're closing off options as much as opening up new ones. Your alma mater trained you well and has a lot to be proud of--and I suspect that that's what your professors feel first and foremost, even though you're going elsewhere for your doctorate.

I'll be at USC for my PhD! The program is a great match for me, and once I visited it was an easy decision. Very excited.

Congratulations! Seriously, well done. (although, again, as someone going to California and coming from Boston-style weather... :-p)

I'm heading to the sunny state of California and UC Irvine's Visual Studies PhD program B-) It rather the opposite of an easy process, as many of you know, but I'm honestly very happy with how it's come out and am really excited about getting started there in the fall!

I'm glad you're excited! I know it was a pretty trying process for you indeed. I've only heard good things about the program - congrats on your decision :)

Thank you :-D It was a very trying process, but I felt even before the decision ended up being made that I would be most happy with this outcome. I've only heard good things about the program as well, and from a large variety of sources. I think a lot of my reluctance is down to the fact that I wasn't able to visit and my family situation, the second of which, at least, is nothing to do with Irvine itself.

I'm looking forward to keeping up with you, through our journals at least... more about this is to come shortly. :-)

Congratulations! I can't claim any particular knowledge about Wake Forest, but NC is a nice place to be (if, ah, definitely southern).
