Possible Wait-List?

Feb 20, 2011 14:47

I haven't heard anything from Michigan-Ann Arbor OR UChicago--my status online is not changed, no letters of doom (or phone calls or emails, for that matter), nothing. Do/Should I take this as an implicit rejection, or as a possible wait-list?

Of course... I do live out in the Middle-of-Nowhere NY, so it COULD just be slow as molasses snail mail

Someone on Grad Cafe said that all Chicago admits went out last week. Apparently this information came directly from someone in-the-know in the department. I'm waiting on Chicago, as well, and so I figure now that it's a rejection.

I also applied to Chicago and, judging by the info on GC about their non-responsiveness, I've been rejected.

I have a good acceptance already (for which I am very grateful!) but this makes me sad because Chicago was my last hope for staying in the midwest, even if acceptance was quite unlikely in the first place.

I dunno, I am not quite giving up on Chicago yet. Activity on gradcafe for prior years reveals that there is a waitlist. Who knows. Good luck!

I'm with ennaaras at this point--no news is not terrible news (it ain't good either, but...). I suppose it ain't over until the rejection letter of doom is in hand (or email), right?

Looks like Michigan is notifying by snail mail--just got my rejection letter today.
