Let's Talk About...

I feel it important that I preface this entry with the following warning: inside this post here will be a lot of musings on sex, and my own lovelife, which I know might offend or bore many people. For all those who don't wish to read further, no harm, no foul, otherwise, you've been warned.

Here Goes

Tonight I went skinny diving, which is exactly ( Read more... )

You know, Dev, you are the exact kind of person that I've always wished there were more of in this world. So few people have the kind of sociological view that you have on modern culture, and it pleases me more than I can say that I know someone who shares my feelings toward it.

Haha, that's very nice of you to say!

I often think there should be less people like me because otherwise you'd have a lot of people jumping off balconies, but maybe in some way, it wouldn't be entirely a bad thing.

In all seriousness though, I do think it is of the utmost importance to stand behind your beliefs, otherwise, what's the point in having them? Just saying you believe something is nice, but unless you really mean it, it's a lie in my opinion or just talk to impress other people. That's not for me.

Take care.

Thanks for the opinion, it DOES matter!

I'm not really sure what her intent was. People will say ANYTHING when push comes to shove, but I guess I'll have to see what unfolds.

I'm sort of an oddity in the regard with my beliefs, because I take them very seriously, almost defensively. I've gotten into arguments and near fights when my integrity gets questioned, which probably isn't healthy. Still at the end of it all, what matters is that I can still live with myself, right?

Take care.

It seems we share near-identical values, in this regard, though I've never had my values 'put to the test' in quite the same way as you described here.
It's good to know there are still others who share the same kind of attitude about these things; it's easy to get a bit disillusioned after having held onto these 'ideals' for so long with apparently little good coming from it. It's nice to have them validated in this way, though it's still frustrating when others act like it's more of a joke than an honestly-held personal morality.

I couldn't agree more. However, I find comfort in the fact that having these ideals at all allows me to sleep at night knowing that I haven't done anything I will regret, which is actually a good feeling in my opinion and one that is very underrated.

Take care.
