Luke made sure to tell Caeser to lock up early before grabbing his jacket and heading into the cold, crisp air of Stars Hollow. He and Lorelai may not have been back together (never mind the bet the town had going that neither Luke nor Lorelai acknowledged) but Luke still understood Lorelai. He still kept track of her, talked to her, hell, he let her install Wifi in his diner.
Because of this, he knew Lorelai hadn't yet picked up a Christmas tree yet. He had been over the week before because of a minor catastrophe with Paul Anka that only a stranger blindfolded holding a carrot could fix. Besides, Lorelai clearly owed him for that considering Babbette had a front row seat to those festivities with Maury at the window.
Turning a very familiar corner, Luke made his way up the Dragonfly Inn's drive-way, spotting Michelle yelling at some poor staff member. The Frenchman acknowledged his presence with a simple point in the direction of the inn before continuing to lay into this guy. Luke decided not to disturb them. It wasn't his business.
Finding Lorelai was a little too difficult seeing as he had to track down Sookie first since Lorelai wasn't at her desk. Apparently, she had gotten into the habit of doing everyone's job and at the moment she was upstairs folding sheets. Stopping at the door to room 3, he was told she'd be at, Luke took a deep breath before knocking.
"Lorelai," he called, as the staff member he saw before stormed by him in a huff.
