Lavishing affection was not a free commodity. Well, at least not in the current life Kristen was living in.

She had always been an affectionate girl. She liked cuddling and hand holding and piggyback rides. And hugs and kisses. Stuff she couldn’t do-at least, not in public anyway. Not like… ever. It wasn’t like she was the type to flaunt out her relationships but she did enjoy having the comfort once in a while. She sighed.

“So fucking annoying,” Kristen muttered to herself.

“Wow baby, you look like shit.”

Rob smiled wryly at her as he sluggishly pulled himself up inside the SUV, dropping the black gym bag he was lugging around on the floor. Kristen cocked her head to the side as she watched him slump over the window, his shirt soaked and his hair matted down by sweat. He looked absolutely exhausted.

“Hey,” she murmured, reaching out to brush clumps of his hair away from his forehead. Rob looked at her tiredly and he shifted so he could sit up. “You look like you’re ready to pass out.”

“Thanks,” he slurred quietly, his head lolling about on his shoulders as he dozed on and off in his seat. Kristen frowned as she watched him battle through his exhaustion, his cheeks still flushed from the day’s activity, his body literally begging for rest. Rob was totally not cut out for strenuous physical work.

Dean clucked his tongue from the front seat, swiveling around to look at them.

“You kids think you can hang in there for a while?” He asked, eyeing Rob warily. Kristen raised an eyebrow at him and he shrugged, pointing at the traffic in front of them. “Traffic’s horrible going back downtown, it’ll take us probably at least an hour ‘til we can get back.”

Kristen shrugged but Rob ignored them for the most part, grunting loudly when his head lolled forward too much, jerking him from his sleepy state. He groaned and he attempted to sit up again, jumping slightly when Kristen tugged on his arm.

“Come here, you big baby. Scoot your ass over so you can take a nap.”

“M’kay.”

He grunted as he inched his way closer to her, making a move to lay his head on her shoulder but Kristen nudged him, her fingers gripping the back of his neck. Rob blinked back in confusion and she tugged at him to lay his head against her chest, just enough for him to be tucked comfortably right under her chin. He sighed as Kristen smoothed his hair away and kissed him on the top of his head, sweat and ickyness be damned.

“You’re spoiling me,” Rob muttered sleepily, his body adjusting to find a more comfortable position while Kristen took hostage of him. She snorted and pulled his arm over her waist, his body finally going limp when they settled comfortably.

“You look like a zombie,” Kristen bit back, kissing his hair again. Rob smelled like combination of sweat and her shampoo (because he was too lazy to look for his own that morning), the sweet scent oddly comforting for her. Her fingers were too busy stroking strands of his hair, the action pulling him deeper into sleep. “What’d they make you do?”

“Mouse wheel,” he answered shortly and nuzzled his face in her chest before his breathing evened out, sleep finally taking over him.

Dean looked up at them from the rearview mirror and Kristen smirked at him, pointing at her chest.

“What? I’ve got an overgrown baby sleeping on my boobs.”

Rob’s bodyguard laughed heartily.

***

“No. Stop, you’re not sneaky.”

Rob huffed as he dropped down on the bench beside Kristen, his lower lip jutted out in a pout. Kristen was in the middle of writing her final English paper inside the craft tent, paper plates filled with what was supposed to be her and Rob’s lunch littering the other side of the table.

“Thwarted, again,” Rob sighed dramatically, slipping his arms around Kristen and kissing the side of her head. “How’s school?”

“Good. I’m almost done with my paper,” she offered , smiling lightly at him. Kristen’s fingers flew lightly above the keyboard of Rob’s laptop (because she’d taken to using it instead of just bringing her own,) pausing only to grant him a quick kiss before going back to typing. “How was training?”

“Exhausting. Me and Bryce don’t exactly act out fighting too well.”

Kristen laughed, shaking her head in amusement. Rob sighed again, propping his chin on her shoulder.

“Have you had lunch?” He asked, tucking a piece of stray hair behind her ear. He’d been doing that a lot lately, especially since Kristen’s new hair seemed to just fly all over the place. Kristen shook her head and pointed at the plates in front of them. “You saved me some? Why didn’t you eat?”

“I was busy. And I was waiting for you,” she gestured towards the heaping plates. “Besides, it’s not like I can eat all that alone.”

Kristen saved her work and closed the lid of the laptop, pushing it off to the side. She grabbed the plate of spaghetti, twirling her fork around the noodles before bringing it up to his lips. Rob stared at her.

“Are we eating or what?”

He opened his mouth, letting his girlfriend feed him the first bite.

***

“Gah, Rob, will you please stop squirming?”

Rob shifted uncomfortably under her and Kristen rolled her eyes, squeezing her thighs resting against both sides of Rob’s body. She stared at him pointedly as she started rubbing his forehead again, the pale make-up slowly revealing his much warmer complexion.

They’ve been sitting inside Rob’s trailer for the past 15 minutes with Kristen trying to get his make-up off since he sucked at removing all traces of the thing off his body. She had him stripped off from the waist up before plopping herself right on top of him, much to Rob’s dismay.

“God, just… stay still for a bit will you? We get this done so we can leave already.”

“I swear, you’d be the one bloody complaining when you get sprayed on every damn day.”

She smirked and pinched his nose, earning a whiny groan from him. “Well, I’m not getting the fancy treatment so I don’t have to complain. Now shut up so I can take care of this for you.”

Rob smiled lightly while he tried to sit still, his lips pursed while he watched her move in front of him. She ran her fingers over his eyes, silently asking him to close it and he smiled at the way she touched him. Her hands were light, the sweeping motions always so gentle and soothing.

“Do you like doing that?”

Kristen raised an eyebrow at him as she continued rubbing the wipes around his ears, her eyes staring at him in amusement. Rob squirmed again when she hit a particularly ticklish spot behind his ear and she laughed, running her fingers on his skin.

“Like what?” She asked, moving on to his next ear. “Do stuff for you?”

“Um…”

Kristen smiled at him as she pulled up another wipe from the bag, carefully folding it as she started to wipe away the remaining vampire make-up off of Rob’s neck and chest. He sighed lightly, his eyes watching her while she concentrated on him.

Her fingers trailed a line against his jaw before she pulled him close, kissing him. Rob had to suck in a gasp when Kristen pulled away and she pressed her forehead with his.

“Sometimes, you kinda have to remember that I love you, Rob.”

***

“Rob, come on babe, wake up.”

Rob stirred from his nap, swatting the air above him while Kristen giggled, her lips blowing warm puffs of air in his ear. He groaned and rolled over, swinging his arm out to wrap around whatever part of her he can reach, trapping her close to him as much as he possibly could. She huffed and Rob opened one eye to peek at her, grinning when realized he could nuzzle his face in her stomach.

“You’re such a big baby. Get up!”

“Still sleepy,” he moaned, nuzzling his face against the soft cotton of her tank top. Kristen sighed and gave up, propping herself up with a pillow while running her fingers through his hair. “Mmm, I like that.”

“I’m sure you do.”

Rob chuckled quietly and pulled his head up, looking directly at Kristen’s bright eyes. She smiled lightly as he slipped his hands over her hips, easing her back down to lie flat on the bed.

“You look tired,” he said, his thumb brushing the tired lines under her eyes. “Take a nap with me? You’ve been taking care of me all week.”

“Yeah, well,” she inched her head closer to him and brushed against his nose. “Somebody had to.”

“Thank you.”

Kristen shook her head. “Not necessary. But you’re welcome.”

Rob smiled and he tugged on the pillow his head was laying on, slipping it under Kristen so they were now sharing his pillow. Kristen rolled over and pressed her back against Rob’s chest, his arms coming to wrap around her torso comfortably. He sighed, pressing a quick kiss to the back of her neck.

“Comfortable?”

“This is going to fuck up our sleep later you know,” she murmured drowsily, her body relaxing in his arms.

“S’okay,” he hummed quietly. “Let me take care of you tonight, alright?”

Kristen sighed contentedly, closing her eyes. “Okay.”
