Short (not good) stories that came out of nowhere. All Madara-centric probably.
- listen if you dare / obito & madara
Obito questions Madara about his life.
Madara looks at him and Obito looks back,
there is an awkward silence and then he sighs and goes on about the past.
He is too vague about it and Obito is so confused because he doesn’t get it, but he listens nonetheless.
Soon he notices how Madara’s voice sounds too distant, cold and hurt, but he decides not to think about it,
reminiscing about war and blood and death.
Then Madara stops talking and Obito wants to ask why
why did you stop
but he looks at Madara’s face and feels like he shouldn’t.
And he definitely doesn’t.
There is silence again but this time is different and he feels like he can’t breathe.
And then there is a whisper. A name, was it?
Obito pretends he didn’t hear.
- what he doesn't see anymore / madara
Looking at the village, from over the mountain just to be alone and at peace, away from people, the accusing looks and whispers.
His mind starts wandering on what now seems like a lifetime ago.
Of two stupid kids dreaming about the future,
I’ll watch over my little brother from here..!
and his (Izuna’s) eyes feel like burning, and he blinks, fighting back what he thinks are tears.
Then Hashirama is suddenly by his side asking if he’s okay, and Madara just nods,
afraid that if he says something his voice would break.
Hashirama is not convinced but lets it go (and maybe that is his mistake), he pats his friend’s shoulder,
smiling and they just stand there in silence, side by side.
Looking at their (their?) dream, now reality.
But Madara doesn’t. He doesn’t look at it anymore. Eyes (Izuna’s) fixated on the horizon.
- taking in your pain / izuna & madara
When one of his brothers died and then it’s just the two of them.
It’s late at night and Izuna can’t sleep, he closes his eyes and keeps seeing the blood and the lifeless eyes staring back at him,
(don’t cry don’t cry)
he can’t take it anymore and gets out of his futon, walking to the other side of the little room.
He doesn’t expect Madara to be awake, so it’s surprised that without a word, he’s already moving aside to give him some space,
Izuna hesitates a little and then lies down next to him.
Madara brushes some strands of hair from his face, puts an arm around him and then pulls him closer against his chest.
The little room feels too big and empty now.
Too quiet.
He feels then his little brother trembling, he knows he’s trying to fight back the tears, to stay strong
(like a shinobi would)
but his father isn’t there to tell him he shouldn’t cry and Madara rubs his back, trying to give some comfort.
It’s okay he whispers and Izuna breaks down.
- can't stay / izuna & madara
At that moment at the river, Izuna maybe feels sorry for his brother, he’s aware about how much it affected him,
but he knows it was for the best.
They’re the enemy, and it would just hurt him in the end.
And he’s angry, confused by the blind trust to his so-called friend, a Senju no less. And maybe he is a little bit jealous too.
And so he decides, that he is the only one his brother needs to stay by his side.
The only one that would never betray him, hurt him.
The only one he should trust.
His family, his brother.
So he stays by his side, always from that moment on until his last breath.
For years his only support.
And then he is dying and Izuna please, please don’t leave me alone his brother’s tears falling on his face,
and he wishes he could tell him that he won’t, would never, because by his side it’s the only place meant for him.
But he is dying and he is leaving and he can’t lie to him.
He regrets to leave his brother too soon. He dies and Madara is left alone.
I’m sorry I didn’t mean to hurt you, his last thought.
He notices.
Madara’s pain. Dull eyes, his tired face.
The way his body tenses when they walk on the streets, the whispers around him, the clenching fists.
He notices and wants to ask, to talk, to reach out.
But he knows Madara won’t say a thing-
He notices, and yet he lets it go.
Madara doesn’t blame him.
The next time they see each other it’s at the Uchiha Shrine and Madara is leaving (him).
And maybe he shouldn’t have just let it go. It’s too late and his words won’t reach him.
And now he is gone.
There is rain then, a sword piercing through his friend’s chest and he’s the one holding it.
Madara falls to his knees and the words he whispers haunt him for the rest of his life.
He let it go, he failed and his friend is dead.
Madara still doesn’t blame him.
- a second for innocence / hashirama & madara
Hashirama tells a lame joke yet again and Madara splashes some water to his face,
he looks depressed and deceives Madara for a moment there until he splashes water back at him.
Hashirama is laughing,
Madara smiles and pushes him to the river but Hashirama takes him down with him.
He expects Madara to yell at him but he is chuckling and
we must look so lame right now!
he’s laughing out loud and Hashirama can’t help but laugh too.
They’re both drenched and laughing.
They're just being kids.
