Thrift Store Find

Yesterday, I spent $5 on a small Rival brand Crockpot at Goodwill.  It doesn't have any temp settings, and the crock is not removeable, but it looked like a good size.  I love my big crock, and I love having leftovers to freeze, but from time to time, I'd like to be able to just throw a couple chicken breasts or pork chops in and have just enough ( Read more... )

Go online and look up the brand and model number to get more information. :)

Because it tastes better if you use the oats that take more than 5 minutes to cook!

I got rid of my trusty, vintage thriftstore Rival crockpots, not because they didn't work (they did and I used them all the time) but because I just couldn't resolve the potential lead-in-the-ceramic and ceramic glaze thing. Everything I looked up suggested possible lead in Rival brand crockpots (and a number of other brands too). I just couldn't feel confident about using them anymore, and am still looking for an alternative.....

If I find true vintage crockpots, I'll still use them, but with the bags made for easy clean up. This one, however, is not that old
