I concur. Apple cider vinegar is a very strong, basic vinegar. I might mix them up if I wanted more flavor, mostly plain vinegar with a couple dashes of a more flavorful one. Or as ruefull says, add apple juice or sauce to it.
If you have any apple juice, mix it with the plain vinegar, that will come very close and preserve the flavor profile. If no juice, a little applesauce will work, just a teaspoon or so with the vinegar.
