Oh wow. I am going to have to try that, with the radishes. It would never have occurred to me!

Thankees. :)

You're welcome :-) Raw radishes make my mouth itch, so using them in salads wasn't an option.

There's nothing like have two or even three crock pots to cook with--especially if you have a large family to cook for or you have guests coming for supper. (Some people also will have a rice cooker or a bread-maker going at the same time--whatever works for you.)
I've often thought how nice it would be to come home to maybe three different winter soups and a potful of chili as well as a good bread or some rice cooked and waiting.
Add a nice salad and a dessert (make a trifle the night before), whatever drinks you wish and supper is ready!

Whoever invented crockpot liners is a SAINT!

Also:
My local Goodwill always seems to have lots of used crockpots for sale cheap. (I just picked up a new-looking one the other day. Once I test it to make sure it's road-worthy, it will join the rest of my hardworking kitchen minions!)
Perhaps that would be of help to some of the folks who read this.

I don't use crockpot liners, but I can totally see where they would be super helpful. I have never been brave enough to make cheesier dishes :-)

We do use the rice cooker a lot. We have a fabulous one from Zoshirushi. I made carrots separately in the crockpot recently and with some leftover rice, I had the best tomato rice vegetable soup recently. There's a lot of creative ways to combo appliances.

We did have a breadmaker too, now Mom has it :-)

I think if I was going to make a crockpot meal with cheese in it that I'd plan on letting it cook for a shorter length of time only--or stay at home that day to keep an eye on it.
Everything is an experiment that first time or two isn't it?
There's a recipe for chocolate bread pudding for the crockpot that I'm longing to try!

Oooh, chocolate bread pudding sounds amazing! I did make regular bread pudding once and it was crazy good. I lined the crockpot with foil like the recipe suggested.

Hehehe, the crockpot is kind of magical - stuff goes in and you sometimes hope something good comes out :-D It's fun to experiment with it.

No problem! I remember when this community was so active that I had to unwatch it for a while :-D We are just two people - I try to make a little more for leftovers and lunches though.

Thanks for the tip about the radishes! I have only ever had them raw or pickled (radishes pickled with miso is especially nice).

Oooh, I have never had pickled radishes! I love pickled foods and that sounds amazing.

A pound of radishes is a LOT of radishes :-D
