1) On justice or not
L is apparently a lying liar who lies. Why lie? Well, you get a response that might be useful. Or you keep valuable info from people who should not have it. Fine.

^This thread actually covers it fairly well. It is worth stating that in this conversation Near is affected by a City-wide curse that makes people act like they're in a soap opera. L was pretending to be affected.

"Hunter's eyes"? I like that. = "critical, unvarnished view of me, and totally thinks independently, no matter the shit I may or may not be pulling, and you have to decide for yourself if I am pulling something on you right now at this very moment..."

I think my L would be stating... both a lie and a truth. Not "justice" as in "Yagami Sr. justice", but what she'd consider a more realistic, practical justice.
