Maybe the reason why so many people in this generation are so confused or depressed is because we were told growing up "You can do anything as long as you try hard enough

I think this too sometimes.

I wish I hadn't been told I could be an astronaut or the first female president as a child. I am an intelligent, well-educated, well-read, creative individual and it's all I can do to pay the rent. But I still feel like I've somehow missed out on a beautiful future. It hurts in a dull background sort of way.
