Jan 08, 2007 09:48

Um, has anyone else been watching HLN/CNN? There's apparently a terribly strong smell of gas running from about 34th/6th all the way up to Rockefeller Centre. Macy's has been evacuated, and it looks like they're going to evacuate RC as well ( Read more... )

Hey you!
Um, I'm about 260 miles away-in Massachusetts.
So, no smell here. (er, except for kitty litter that needs to be changed. Yick.)

Oh, and nope, not much sleep again.
I've decided to stop whining about it. So boring-the endless whining.

Oops, I told Anderson to set up a huge fan and blow the smell your way :-) GO get some Melatonin. I swear it works. My sister uses benedryl, if it works on her kid - she says it works on her!!LOL

heh, I just posted something on the open thread - forgot to check 'friends'.

They're saying the air quality sensors aren't detecting anything dangerous. I have to wonder - since natural gas is naturally odorless and they insert the scent in the process so you'll notice a gas leak, what if someone just set off canisters of the odor?

There was this thing a few months ago where a huge part of Manhattan was smelling like maple syrup, like everyone in the city was having pancakes at the same time.

did they ever figure out what the maple syrup smell was? I was following that story obsessively on Gawker, but I never heard the ending, if any.

I don't smell anything but I wish I would so that work would be evacuated. It's a shitty, rainy day and I wanna go home!
