What is life if we don't learn from it? I'm sorry you feel disgusted with yourself, but you've walked away with some thinking to do, and I never consider that a bad thing.

I've had these things happen to me before, to be sure. Feel better soon.

How exciting that you're going to New Orleans and truly wonderful you're going there to work with Habitat. Thank you for doing that. Will you be going with anyone you know?

My uncle lives down there and has for years. Luckily he wasn't terribly affected, though he moved up here for a bit while things calmed down.

Thanks -- I like having you guys as friends.

It's a ridiculous thing to be this upset about! I just saw Waiting for Superman -- I need to save my upset energy for the state of our nations schools!

It's wonderful that you're volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. Have a great trip. *hugs*

I appreciate that, Eman -- this was a silly thing to be really upset about. Maybe I'm hormonal. But I am going to try to learn from this and do better!

I'm skeered about learning how to use a hammer -- I always leery about learning how do things that I don't want as part of my permanent job description...

It's never a nice feeling when you're left wrong-footed - but at least, if it's any consolation, you can remind yourself that you Are Not A Bad Person. The Habitat thingy (sorry, ignorant Brit, haven't a notion what it's about, beyond charity/volunteer work of some kind) speaks for that, as does the fact that you are actually worried over your cock-up. It'd be worse if you walked away from it without reflecting on it at all.

Yep. Today I'm a wrong-footed cock-upper. But tomorrow I'll be a right-footed cock-downer!
