I'm back -- from my Habitat trip to New Orleans, and then from the Jon Stewart thing in DC.

The Habitat trip was great, in spite of a local who I met on the last day (he rented me a car to get to the airport), who said, "Yer down here to rebuild a house?   I've gotta say:  If somebody didn't have the gumption to rebuild their house after five years ( Read more... )

I wrote non-fiction last year during Nano. Got a lot of pages done. And that's the main idea, right?

I'm glad to hear you had such a great time in both places.

Can't wait to see your kink contribution.

I signed up for NaNoWriMo but life has been so crazy that I'm ashamed to admit my word count at the start of day 5 was still officially 0. I've since found a few minutes of time and made a bit of progress. How is yours going?

1) I'm really happy with my kink thing -- it's not perfect, but I think I had a fresh little idea! I submitted it last night -- looking forward to the postings!

2) Nanowrimo is going OK. Add me to your friends: I'm BethMix
Glad you signed up!

3) Word Wars. They totally help the word count. If you happen to get this today (Saturday), BSGstardust (who is in the Netherlands) and I (in Connecticut) are having a word war today at a little after 3 (my time). Let me know if you can join us.
Or: If you are interested in scheduling one during the week, let me know!

I suspect we are all going to be on extreme porn overload very shortly lol. Nano input is likely to grind to a complete halt for a few days =)

I just added you to my friends. Someone else took mascaret so I'm mascaret_ I saw that you are at 12.5k words. That's fabulous.

I would love to do a word war with you. (Though you may have to first explain to me exactly what a word war is - my first guess would be we each write as much as we can in a set time period? Perhaps I should go scope out the FAQ a little better.)

I'm in MA so est timezone as well. Early mornings or evenings after say 8 work best for me. Not sure if that would work for you. This evening I'm actually around at a fairly early 6:30/7:00 pm.

I'm going to add you to my Nano friends.

Word War: For me -- they are immensely helpful.
All you do is make an appointment with another writer for a time and date, and then we check in (via personal message) with each other. And then we write (for a half hour or 45 minutes or an hour) -- and then we compare word counts.
Nothing much to it, but for some reason, I find it really focuses the writing. And it keeps me from throwing up my hands and giving up, at least during the Word War!

I didn't realize you were in Mass -- I'm in Connecticut. Would you be interested in warring Wednesday in the early morning? OR Wednesday late-ish, like 9:30 p.m.?

Or Thursday morning?

Any of those would work for me actually.

I should be around tomorrow am from 6 to 10 (except for 8-8:30)
Drop me a line if you wake up in the mood for war. 930 pm is a perfect time for me too if the morning doesn't work out.

How about it we try for morning -- how about 7:15? And do 30 minutes?
I'll post to this thread, to see if you're awake and able to write.
