[Behind her, the pub is partially visible. She's tucked into a corner and leaning back in the chair as she speaks to the camera. So, I managed to give myself a half-assed tour, and I'm definitely impressed. Kind of hard not to be. warden filter. PFFT. Oh Howie. <3 whateverthemess May 6 2010, 02:47:05 UTC
[She laughs.] Have you ever tried taking on a cave full of vampires with a nightstick? I haven't. But I don't think it would end well. Nice to meet you too, Sergeant.

They don't. That particular adventure was... volunteer work.

[She scratches the back of her neck a bit awkwardly.] Anyway. There are vampires here? I can't say I'm too surprised. I am impressed though--would you mind my asking what the circumstances were, exactly?

I made a map, if you're interested.

Nice enthusiasm, princess. Keep that up and half the lazy-ass Warden contingent'll be out for blood.

What can I say. I'm an enthusiastic person.

Oh yeah. I can tell. Machine guns say a lot about someone's "enthusiasm."

[Yes, he did just do the scare quote fingers.]

And finger-quotes say a lot about someone's relative level of sincerity. You are?

[And Misato just happened to hear that and will now be joining you at your table with her booze. No, you don't get a choice.]

It looks like someone's finally speaking my language. Major Misato Katsuragi. Nice to meetcha. [She offers a hand over the table.]

[Murphy closes her laptop and takes the proffered hand, smiling at the other woman.] Nice to meet you, Major. Captains, Sergeants--we're not exactly lacking people of rank around here, are we?

I'd say the Admiral only takes the competent ones, but I'd be lying. Guess we're just the ones best suited for the job. And you can call me Misato.

[She raises her glass in a mock toast and downs the remainder. Yes, this lady can hold her liquor.]

...You know, I'm starting to think there's not a lot of teamwork going on between wardens. At least, between you and that other person talking about the new intake it's kind of looking that way. Murphy's fine.

[She nods in response to the toast and takes a pull from her own bottle.] How long have you been here?

Alas, you get VOICE. Because Five is tinkering with things, and he never goes to the pub :( a_bit_put_upon May 6 2010, 05:53:21 UTC
Strange, how you refer to the world, as if it's the only world there. Of course, I'm merely assuming that by Chicago, you mean the city on the planet Earth- I could be wrong on both counts, of course. Perhaps I've been traveling too long... hmm... [A bzzt and sparking sort of noise.] Drat it. Well, of course I haven't. Oh! Pardon me, what a terrible way to introduce oneself. Hello; I'm the Doctor. I work in the library aboard this ship- you're welcome to peruse any time, of course.

[clicking and fiddling as he changes to the warden filter]
I've got nothing to say regarding weapons, but I strongly recommend speaking to Iroh if you're interested in meditation. He's a man very much in touch with the mental flows around him.

VOICE IS GOOD. SO IS FIVE. GLEE. (BELATED, but she won't 4th-wall him. Anyhoodle.) whateverthemess May 6 2010, 07:50:09 UTC
...Yeah, I mean Chicago, Illinois, United States, Earth. Sergeant Howie mentioned other versions of Earth, but I didn't know I had to get that sp--wait.

Did you say the Doctor?

[...No, because that would be ridiculous. You cannot see this, Five, but she's so massaging her temples right now.]

[Switching to warden filter as well]

Iroh?

Voice - Warden Filter (Aww why not xD) a_bit_put_upon May 6 2010, 14:58:08 UTC
Well, of course there are other versions of Earth; it would be silly to think other realities didn't exist. That would be like saying the Universe isn't real. It's merely a chore to get to them, generally.

[Another small zap, and a click.]

Ah, there we go. Right as rain. Yes, I'm the Doctor, though if you're confused by the presence of, ah... I believe it's two of me now, not to worry. We haven't caused a lethal paradox that I know of. At least not yet. And Iroh is a delightful man. If you're familiar with gurus, he's very much like that, if he isn't one officially. You know, I've never asked. Every time we speak, we turn out wandering a great philosophical path somewhere or other, or we become engrossed in the game we're playing. Why can't more friendships be that way, I wonder?

Voice - W. Filter (She's not sure "I'M KARRIN AND YOU'RE PRETEND" is the best first impression. |D ) whateverthemess May 7 2010, 02:30:23 UTC
...Of course.

[She sighs. And remembers The Five Doctors.]

I think I can manage. And he sounds like a good person to know. Philosophy can get a little tiring at times, I'd think.
