Character Number: First
Character: Leviathan of Envy
Fandom: Umineko no Naku Koro ni
Personality:
The first thing one would notice about Leviathan is her cute appearance, possibly even a defenseless human. However, don't be fooled by her looks. Even though she looks human, she is actually a demon created to serve a powerful witch. She carries the name of Furniture with great pride, as it's something really important in the Umineko world.
Leviathan is really childish and she always wants to have everything that others have. Of course, she represents the sin of Envy, and she gains power when she's jealous of something or someone. She will do anything to acquire it, no matter what.
Also, she's a crybaby. When things don't go the way she wants it to be, she will cry and won't stop until she gets what she wants or she's distracted by another thing that could entertain her. Despite being the second eldest stake, she doesn't act like an older sister figure unless you manage to piss her off. In that case, she will hold a grudge against that person and will not rest until she sees that person dead.
Speaking of which, she's a bloodthirsty, personified weapon that enjoys to play with humans with Beatrice's permission and likes to make them suffer. She will giggle as she pierces a person's chest and hear them beg for mercy. Since it's common for the Sisters of Purgatory to be used as a tool of murder, they don't feel guilty for doing such a thing. After all, this was why they were created in the first place. Also, they are not afraid of dying since their master, Beatrice, can revive them whenever she wants.
Something that she shares with her sisters is that they are extremely loyal to the person that summoned them. It's a great honor for them to be called out by the Witch because they are furniture and they will never betray their master no matter what. They show them the respect they deserve and will not go against an order that it was given to them. After all, being thrown away and never to be summoned again would defeat the purpose of a Furniture's life, which is made to be used by their master.
Leviathan also has a soft spot for cute things. She cannot resist them, and doesn't seem to be ashamed at all. Actually, all of the sisters can't resist cute and adorable things, so it's pretty common for them going all "Kya~!" when they are near something cute. This is always a reason to get distracted in Leviathan's mind, after all.
It's an unspoken rule between the sisters that they must always laugh at another's failure. This, of course, doesn't just limit to her sisters, but also to anyone else they meet and it's not above them in their ranks. For example, when their eldest sister, Lucifer, fails to do her task correctly, they mock and tease Lucifer to the greatest extent until their attention is diverted elsewhere by an even greater failure. Since Leviathan is one of the Seven Sisters of Purgatory, she is no exception to these traits.
History:
The world of Umineko is cenetred around a murder case that happened in the island of Rokkenjima in the time between October 4 and October 5, 1986. Rokkenjima belonged to the head of the Ushiromiya family: Kinzo. On the island, the family members struggle to survive and escape from their fates the witch, Beatrice the Golden, have in her hands as the murders follow closely to the witch's epitaph:
"My beloved hometown, the bountiful river running through it.
You who seek the Golden Land, follow it's path downstream and seek the key.
If you follow the river downstream, you will find a village. In the village, look for the shore the two will tell you of.
There sleeps the key to the Golden Land.
He who lays his hand upon the key shall travel under the rules below:
At the first twilight, you shall lift up as sacrifice the six chosen by the key.
At the second twilight, the surviving shall tear apart the two who are close.
At the third twilight, the surviving shall praise my honorable name on high.
At the fourth twilight, gouge the head and kill.
At the fifth twilight, gouge the chest and kill.
At the sixth twilight, gouge the belly and kill.
At the seventh twilight, gouge the knee and kill.
At the eighth twilight, gouge the leg and kill
At the ninth twilight, the Witch shall live again and none shall be left to live.
At the tenth twilight, the journey shall end and you should reach the Golden Land.
The Witch will praise the wise, and should bestow four treasures.
One shall be, all the gold from the Golden Land.
One shall be, the resurrection of the souls of all the dead.
One shall be, even the resurrection of the lost love.
One shall be, to put the Witch to sleep for all time.
Sleep peacefully, my most beloved witch, Beatrice."
Whoever solves the epitaph gets to become the head of the family, to succeed Kinzo. It was even said that Kinzo would legitimately pass down the headship to the person who solves the difficult riddle. However, Kinzo was not known for being the most sane person of the famiy. Therefore, most of the family members had claimed I wouldn't put it pass (grand)father" and the epitaph was last on their list of priorities. On their last family conference in 1986, the massacre of the Golden Witch occurred because nobody had solved the epitaph by then. By the end, the only person in the family who did not believe in Beatrice was Battler Ushiromiya, which started the logic war in a different dimension called "Meta World". The winning conditions was that Battler must prove that all the murders were done bv human hands and if he cannot, it is Beatrice's win for that round.
This world is "divided" in two planes: the meta world and the "gameboard". The Meta World is where witches and demons exist outside the gameboard and where Battler fights against Beatrice to deny her existence. The latter, the "gameboard", is where Beatrice lays out the setting of the Rokknejima Serial Murder, where Battler has to explain that everything could be done by humans and that magic does not exist. The setting is not unique to one "gameboard", or as others would say, "world" or "Fragments"; the Rokkenjima Serial Murder is repeated in many, many other Fragments to the point it is just not unique to a single world. Of course, the main purpose is to lay out the foundation of the "game" Battler and Beatrice play and explains the Multiple Dimension Theory.
All the witches and demons must be acknowledged by humans if they want to co-exist in the human world. That's what makes their magic so powerful. Denying a witch or a demon would lead in killing them.
The past of the Stakes of Purgatory aren't clear at all except for the fact that they were created to serve Beatrice. They are called Furniture and their purpose in their lives is to serve the Golden Witch Beatrice. It's clear that during the first and second game they are the ones to carry out the sacrifices without any problem or remorse. To the Seven Stakes of Purgatory, killing is like a game to them.
Leviathan appears for the first time to mock her sister Lucifer, along with her other sisters, when she was defeated by Kanon in their match. Soon, all of the sisters join in on the attack and manage to overcome Kanon and Shannon.
Later, when they are carrying out the sacrifices for the game in the rose garden, all of them meet up with Kumasawa and prepare to attack her. Soon they realized that the one they were attacking was Beatrice's teacher: Virgilia. When both witches start fighting, they stand back to not get in the way of the witches' duel.
A while later, the witch inside Eva solves the epitaph and becomes Eva-Beatrice. As expected, she received the furniture of the previous Beatrice and they are obligated to follow her orders. Of course, Eva-Beatrice wasn't exactly a really sane person and she ended up becoming crazy, carrying out the rituals and sacrificing the people one by one.
In any case, Belphegor and Leviathan are called out to fight against Rudolf and Kyrie, in that order. When they split up, Leviathan tells Kyrie that her power comes from her own jealousy of her own sisters for seven days and nights. However, Kyrie still managed to avoid her attacks with ease. When Leviathan asks just how this was possible, Kyrie explains that she have been feeling jealous of Asumu for 18 years, which makes Leviathan's a week of jealousy tiny in comparison.
Leviathan ends up losing that fight by Kyrie's hand.
Anyway, during the fourth game, she met Ange when she was training to become a powerful Witch with Maria. They are in a different dimension and Maria tells Ange to summon the Sisters of Purgatory. Since it was hard for her to keep all of them, all the sisters play scissor-rock-paper to see who will be the one staying at Ange's side for now. Mammon wins and the others sisters whine since she got to be the only one who stood beside Ange.
After Ange becomes more powerful, she is able to summon all seven sisters at the same time. Leviathan can be seen with her other sisters in Ange's room when she's studying. She's one of the few that stay quietly in her place, but not until Sakutaro and Maria appear, in which all the Stakes quickly jump at Sakutaro to cuddle him at the same time.
However, Ange has her own problems in her school and orders all the sisters to kill everybody when she was highly provoked by her classmates. Leviathan watched her sister, Lucifer, try to explain that it's impossible for them in that moment to kill anybody in the room. Unsatisfied with her answer, Ange denied the existence of all the sisters making them disappear.
Ange manages to summon them again a while later and the Seven Sisters forgive Ange for their incident back in the day, because they were really happy to be able to see her again. When they arrive to the island, Ange confronts her aunt Kasumi and her guards and orders the Sisters to kill all of the guards. Now that Ange had gathered enough courage to carry out the acts of murder, the Seven Sisters follow her orders without hesitating at all. When Eva-Beatrice appears, they let Ange deal with her, in which Ange comes out victorious over her witch aunt.
During Episode 5, Beatrice is no longer the Game Master and Lambdadelta takes her place. Beatrice exists as a piece in that world, and the Stakes serve as Beatrice's truths during the whole game. Levia even cries when Beatrice is out of truths when fighting Erika and she couldn't stab her. At the end of Episode 5, when Beatrice's existence is destroyed, and before Battler solves Beatrice's riddle and becomes Batman Game Master, the Stakes are captured and almost got their existence denied. Luckily, Battler arrives in time and we get to start a new game!
Hello Episode 6! Here, the Stakes spend most of the time helping Moetrice and trying to fulfill the sacrifices in any way. Leviathan went to help Kyrie in her battle against Jessica... Though Jessica is boosted by Furfur and Zepar's Magic and she can't do anything. BUT KYRIE IS SO AWESOME THAT SHE MANAGES TO PROTECT BOTH OF THEM WITH THE POWER OF ENVY! Such a wonderful friendship. But Jessica is still too powerful and ends up beating them.
Sadly for the stakes, when the Logic Error happens, they try to be of assistance of Battler and his wedding, but they are being watched by the Siesta Sisters. However, when things got serious and Beatrice appeared again, they didn't need to fear anything! They protect Beatrice from the outside and watch as Beatrice wins the duel against Furudo Erika! Then, when everyone is happy they watch Beatrice get married with Battler.
Timeline: After EP 6
Abilities:
Leviathan's special power is to, literally, turn into a stake with a demonic handle. In her stake form, she flies around the room at high speeds and ricochet off the walls until she strikes her enemies.
In her human form, Leviathan can summon a blue blade attached to her arm and "hide in the shadows" until they are summoned. When they are not present to the naked eye, they simply turn invisible and observe their surroundings instead.

Here ♥! Sample writing:
Why was this happening to her? Why was she alone in a strange world without any information of how to go back? She was such a good girl! Leviathan was sure that Beatrice wouldn't do such a thing to her. She never failed at her tasks, like her sister, Lucifer, did, and she was always there to fight for Ange when she needed it. And Battler wouldn't do something like this either!
"This is not faaaaiiiiirrrr!!!" Leviathan cried loudly as she sat down in the floor, looking around the new place she was in. There wasn't anyone she would recognize in that place, and that started to piss her off badly. She wanted to go back where she should have been in the beginning! She was a Stake of Purgatory! There was no place to slack off from her job!
"Everyone must be cuddling Sakutaro while I'm here!!!" A loud, sharp cry left her lips as she quickly growled as if she was remembering something. "I'm so jealous of them! Grrr...! I could kill someone in this moment!" Now the sad expression in her face suddenly twisted into a face full of anger and tears as she glared at someone in the distance.
She wanted some answers and she planned to get them. Someone here was going to provide them, no matter what she had to do. She could be a monster if she wanted, and she wasn't afraid of becoming one. And before said monster could start looking for answers, a small 'meow' from behind her called out for her attention.
Without saying anything, the demon representing Envy quickly moved to where the cat was. The cat was black with bright eyes and was calling out for food. Of course, Leviathan couldn't resist him and moving her arms around her, she pulled him in her arms. "Kya! So cute! You will be mine now!" With a soft giggle, she added, "I bet my sisters would be so jealous of me now since you're so cute! Kya~!"
Well, maybe the answers could wait a bit more. After all, her priorities were settled at that moment, and she could always go and torture someone for some answers later.

[On the screen, a cute girl appears. If it weren't for the fact that she looked so angry, she would seem a bit more approachable-- well, as friendly as a Stake can be, at least. Then, all of a sudden, she stops when she notices that this device was recording and just smirks a bit evilly at the screen.]
I don't know who is behind this, but let me tell you one thing~ [GiggleGiggle.] Do you know what I do with silly people that dare to touch me~ ♥? I pierce their heads until they cry for mercy! Kyahahahaha! You better hide soon, because if I find you I will make sure to make you my eternal toy~! [Cackle.] After all, it's not fair that my sisters always get all the fun with theirs! I will show them that Leviathan of Envy is the strongest one!
[With a loud, happy cackle, she ends the feed.]
