Excellent juxtaposition, Snape the Order Spy coming right after Snape the Death Eater. Interesting that he says so very little here, does not seem to want to speak at all, and just soaks in it all. Snape is rarely if ever this passive. It has to be Harry affecting him - well, duh, I suppose. Makes me wonder if he's ever cared about anyone else before or cared about what they thought. Dumbledore usually slides into that role in most fanfics, but the Headmaster is definitely not fulfilling that role here.
Makes me wonder, though - I have to hope that he did find the daughter, and save her life? It was the mother they were talking about? Or, since the Order had arrived, he left finding her to them, and just ran off, himself - task done?
