I am glad I am not the only one who saw that trailer and went "Oh, yeah!" I wasn't brave enough to ask for it for yuletide but I would sure love to read something such as you suggest!

You are definitely not the only one! It took me completely by surprise the night before nominations opened and suddenly I had my third request. I regret nothing.

I'm sort of relieved now that I chose not to offer Matrix fandom this year... I don't think I could live up to that. But good luck!

What can I say, I strive to provide only the most difficult and exacting prompts.

Hi hi. Sorry to comment here, but it'll be relevant later? Thank you for adding me! I went to your journal for BSG and stayed for, well, ladies. I love ladies. I love strong ladies. Etc, etc.

That being said, I was so disappointed by Snow White and the Huntsman. I really was super excited to see it, and the premise was interesting, I had high hopes, Kristen Stewart in an armor isn't something I'm ever going to say no to... but it was so bad. So, so bad. And I was angry because they're all good actors but the plot was a mess (how much can you mess a story that's already been written? A lot, apparently), full of holes and inconsistencies, it was wildly anachronistic in a number of ways, the acting was cringe-worthy, and all the feminist and woman-affirming potential got completely ruined. (Oh, you posted this a while ago? Sorry, I just really needed to vent about my feelings for this movie?) I wrote something for it because I was so frustrated with it, but seriously. Why.

Anyway. Hi! Nice to meet you!

Oh God. I literally don't know how to work LJ *facepalm*

SO. Obviously this wasn't meant to be here. Also I remember why my Snow White feelings came back! Because I read your article where you said you'd loved it. Awks. Sorry, I suck, ignore everything I said (except if you want to talk about it? Because I love that?) and just, hi.

hey, no worries! people are allowed to feel how they feel about stuff, I'm not like the boss of people's reactions or anything.

I really liked it, but I acknowledge that is mostly due to my gross emotional problems re: lady knights. the plot was a clusterfuck. I didn't really pick up any anachronisms, but I also didn't see the film as actually being situated in a historical time period, so--*shrug*. I think it actually did quite well by its female characters--pretty much the only thing they did well was snow and ravenna's relationship. For me, it was a really fresh take on the rival women trope, and it managed to make ravenna sympathetic and interesting without morally excusing her. I think the film had quite a lot to say about women and power, though how well or clearly it said it is sort of up for debate due to its tragic execution.

also: hi!!

I really really love lady knights (and Kristen Stewart, and Kristen Stewart with Charlize Theron), and usually I'm a very good audience, but I seriously couldn't suspend my disbelief for this one. Like, I can forget the ravens and the milk bath (though really, cliché much?), the completely vague mysticism, but the gaping plotholes? The plot didn't make any sense! I was so upset because I was actually really excited and anxious to see what they were going to do with the concept and the amazing actors, but then... as for the anachronisms, I didn't pick up any historical time period, but it was something about religion? I don't actually remember exactly what it was, since I saw it so long ago, but basically there was two different types of religious practices which definitely didn't belong to the same historical period (such a rookie mistake! Urgh.). Even Snow and Ravenna's relationship. There relationship was so oversimplified! They had a lot in common, and it would've been so easy to build on a sort of kinship between the two, maybe ( ... )
