i think i want to become a relationship counselor, or therapist, or whatever the technical word is. i'm good with that kind of stuff and i find it interesting. i'd have to go back to school...gross. i don't think in masters program would accept me due to my lack of psychology major or minor in undergrad and my lack of an excellent gpa. but i think ( Read more... )

I think you can get a social worker's license and open up private practice. This does not require a lot of schooling, I believe.

I hope you get a job at a record company. I'd be friggin proud.

what soundtsunami just said about social work. I agree. I think. Also, if you don't have a psych background but rock the face off the psych GRE, they will probably look very favorably upon you because you will bring something new and interesting perspective-wise to their graduate program. Failing that, since you already have a degree, there are ways around having to do another full degree and just do major coursework. (Either way, if a program really wanted you to have psych coursework under your belt, you could just take classes as a non-degree student.)

Yup - I'm doing that exact thing to get into an English PhD program. If you take the classes as a non-degree student that can sometimes get you out of the extra fees that "enrolled" students have. Downside is that you don't have an advisor but if you make nice with the profs you can get around that :)
