MOD POST: major clear up time

PURPOSE OF THE COMMUNITY: I can't believe how many people are interested in this community and I am AMAZED that in 5 days we got 1200+ members, but it's not going in the direction I want it to and I'm frustrated with that.

could we institute something of a picture-size limit?

i like this community and would like to keep it on my friends list but a lot of the pictures people are posting are fucking HUGE and they aren't that hard to resize or just code smaller, you know?

umm I'm assuming that the text box is 550px wide but sometimes we want to see the poster's icon and username too. so the width limit should probably be lowered to 450 or something eh?

i think maybe if the comm doesnt get too many applicants, maybe there should be a way to post "fresh meat" applications - for example, a potential member makes a post with an outfit they think is their best, their cutest, something that resembles their style...and then members can give a yes or a no and majority rules.

this may just be a bit too much like a rating community, but its still a way of screening without just deleting posts off the group. what do you think miss mod?

its really not the style i want to go with right now. i considered it but its too rating community and id rather if people didnt fit in here and they realized that, if they just left on their own you know?

Thank you so much for posting this. I am tired of seeing boot ugly outfits on my friends page. I thought this would be a good community for inspiration... but I was going to leave until I saw this post. Hopefully it improves because I really like the concept.

i think that if people feel the necessity to apologise for a boring post, they shouldn't be posting just yet.

and also, if it's important right now that people get a clear sense of just what kind of fashion you're talking about, maybe moderated posting for now is the best option? it would certainly clean out the sweats and hoodies/blah stuff that crops up now and then.
