I love your hair when
you wake and how you worry
about morning breath

Standing at the back of the theater,
I can just make out your face
between the brow ridge and mannerisms
of the bassist.
But his substantive hips
at moments
make me wonder if he isn't a woman.

I noticed today
that there are no drawers in my
kitchen, not one drawer,
not even a drawer facade.
Where will the silverware live?

There is something wrong
between the two of us that
