Girl-Kirk is awesome though i don't think her parents would have called her 'James'.
I think Spock would find girls confusing since they’re not logical - what they say, do and feel are three very different things. I like the way you’ve done Sarek, matchmaking dad who wants to get them together and give him grandchildren.
Bones makes a great a big brother for her; I’d imagine him super protective.
I think Uhura would see Kirk as a rival and be jealous, not just personally but professionally - here is a twenty year old girl who graduated in three years and became Captain. I would have liked some stuff from when they were in Academy, where Kirk shows Uhura up. (I don’t like the character, can you tell?) Maybe Uhura be responsible for spreading rumours about her?
Are you gonna have her be close to Pike like as a father figure?
I've been inspired.

Not something I would have ever thought of or considered in a million years...and yet I am DYING to read it.
I have a hard time shipping Kirk of any gender with anyone other than Spock (McCoy is a rare exception) but for some reason this seriously intrigues me. Can't wait for the first chapter :)
