Sometimes our sins far outweigh the steps we have made to rehabilitate ourselves. Tookie was convicted of murdering 4 people in cold blood (for which he never even attempted to make ammends) but his bigger crime was creating the Crips. His "baby" is still very much in business today and is responsible for far more pain, death and racial disharmony then his being put to death. Yes, there are many who believe that he was a changed man...but you cannot change what was in the past...he was not rehabilitated NEARLY enough to make up for the pain and death he is responsible for.
Causes are wonderful...they make us feel bigger then simply being just us. But perhaps you would be better served taking up a different cause or a different inmate on death row...this guy got just what he deserved.

this man got far from what he deserved. I can only assume that you havnt taken the time to review the facts surrounding his case. I can only assume you imediately accepted the demonetization of Stan that the mainstream media put forth. If you had taken the time to look into his case, you would discover that his trial was frought with blatant racism when all black members of the jury were kicked off and his trial was moved to torrence ca, an upper-class, predominantly white neighborhood at the time. You would of found that the key witness who testified against stan was a man in prison who was given the case file to review prior to trial and agreed to testify in exchange for preferential treatment or a reduced sentence. Had you actually been closely following he case, you would of known that a re-examinaion of the ballistics report found that it was impossible that only one gun was used in the murders, and that while the gun was registered to stan, it was found under someone elses bed. I've been working for months on this case, and

I'm against the death penalty, but not for reasons that I think most people are. I just don't think the idea of killing someone for revenge makes sense; I think a far worse punishment is to be in jail for life. In regards to this case, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he say that he wouldn't help put an end to the crips? It's all fine and good to write books and repent, but if he wanted to truly make a difference, wouldn't that be the way to do it?
