[All business today:]

Everyone who came in contact with the animals -

[Someone is NOT saying "dinosaurs".]- should report to the infirmary. I've already let the staff know what to look for ( Read more... )

BRB SHOWERING FOREVER

[The Gothling does not like steamy jungles.]

Can mosquitoes transmit the disease? Because you know what they were feeding on until we came along.

I think I'll go get checked on. Thanks again....

I'd worry about a good deal more than prion diseases from the mosquitoes.

Dengue fever and malaria come to mind.

Bleah...good point! Nothing like a violent brain fever to cap off the hike from Hell.

Good to know I'm not the only one whose scientific curiosity wasn't piqued.

[Then again, she's been there before.]

Are you going to be all right?

Wait, so we can get dinosaur diseases?

Probably not. DX was caused by contaminated sheep in the food InGen gave the infant carnivores, and, to my knowledge, scrapie isn't transmissible to humans.

Better safe than sorry, though.

I'm afraid that my science major isn't enough to translate that. You're talking about a disease?

You've heard of mad cow disease, right?

[Still a little loopy due to a combination of a light fever and pain medications.]

I don't have mad cow disease. But I'm in the infirmary anyway.

What happened?

Weeeelll ... that cut I got on my hand, courtesy of the little game-bird sized buggers? Got infected. Garden-variety infected. Still embarrassing. Ought to know better by now.

Also broke a couple of ribs. Turns out being on a bridge when it's falling is bad for your health.

Could have been worse.

Do you need anything?

When is this place not annoying?

I appreciate you doing what you did for me last week, in spite of everything, by the way.

Hope she's feeling better. And talking to you again soon.

I'll go get checked out just to be sure.

Good. Might want them to look you over for Dengue Fever and malaria, as well. Wanda mentioned mosquitoes.

I'll get looked over for whatever they're alerted to. There was leeches and piles of dung bigger than me that had to qualify as a biohazard and I'm 90% sure a bunch of those plants were poisonous. So I'm going to get looked at for everything from the opening signs of bird flu to pink eye.

Good man.

Listen, I need to talk to you. I've been meaning to since before the port. When you have a minute, let me know.
