I'm not sure what I can do to help, but if anyone needs it, I haven't been affected by the flood.

For those of you who don't know where you are or how you got here: it's going to be okay. This sort of thing usually rights itself after a few days. You'll be home safe and sound in no time.

[Private to Amanda]

Amanda? Are you there?

[flood] moment in history, amanda young

Why do you speak such lies?

What lies are those?

What if these people never return to their former selves? How can you be so certain that all will be well? They are lies if you can't prove them true.

Did you hear the announcement from the Admiral before all of this started happening? It's a flood. A couple of days, everything will right itself again.

Is it just an approximate period of a few days or is there a specific length to these incidents?

[Accent is familiar and Kay-like, but the voice is much younger.]

Kuh-

[She stops herself from saying "Kay".]

It's usually two or three days. Anything I can do to help you?

I'm not sure. [He's actually alright. He's just got that lost/far from home discomfort and he's not really sure what to do.] I have a list of people here that are good to come to during "floods" if they say they're "unaffected" and if you're Sarah Harding, which is who my communicator lists you as, you're one of those people.

[Pause, then an amused tone.]

I'm Sarah, yes. The flood is something of a paranormal breach on the barge; some people have apparently been replaced by their younger selves.

It should be over in a few days.

A flood? I don't see any water.

It's sort of a euphemism.

A euphemism for what?

[Getting her geek on:]

It's a paranormal occurrence which causes fluctuations in the state of the Barge. For example, there have been incidents when people have been unable to lie for a certain period of time, or have turned into animals.

We call them "floods" for lack of a better term - I guess it's mostly because right before they happen, the Admiral makes an announcement claiming we've taken on water.
