[Private Audio to Amanda Young]
[In a hard tone:]
I have your movies.
[Private Audio to Morrigan]
I've gotten copies of a series of movies about Mark Hoffman and Amanda. You need to be aware that Amanda is going to react very badly to seeing these, and your inmate, by proxy, will probably be a very unhappy camper.
[A beat.]
You should consider watching them. They're brutal and ugly and horrifying, but you should see what your inmate has done. Maybe you can find some way to help him.
[Pause. Flatly:]
He needs help.
[Private Video to Hoffman]
[She looks very guarded, which is a feat, considering she can't quite bring herself to look at the camera. Her attention is trained on a pen in her hand, which she's tapping slowly, nervously on her desk.]
I just watched the Saw series. Your movies. I stayed awake last night to get through them all. Desensitize myself so I can be there when Amanda sees them. So I can watch them with a sense of detachment.
I've spent ten years observing kill sites. I've seen things get ugly, people killed brutally, but this -
[Tap.]
[Speaking of ugly. There's something ugly about her expression for a moment. Disgust, revulsion, anger - it all fades quickly, but it's still there in her eyes. It takes her a minute to carry on with what she's trying to say.]
They show a lot, Hoffman. A lot. Everything.
[Sarah goes a little pale for a moment and falters. Tap. Tap. Heavily, cautiously:]
The last four are all about you and the things you did.
[Tap. She doesn't know what to say to him, and it's obvious. She swallows hard, gives a fleeting glance at the camera, then continues quietly:]
You need to be prepared for her reaction. She will react - probably badly, at that. But the worst she can do is open her mouth, okay? Just words. Remember that. The worst she can do is talk.
I know it might seem unfair, but I'm trying to help her. This is going to help her. I know it will. And if she shows progress, you promised to -
[Nope, can't go there right now. Tap. Tap.]
Just remember what you promised me. You hold up your end, Hoffman, and I'll hold up mine.
And -
[She chokes on her words for a moment. Clears her throat. Stops tapping the pen and looks up at the camera for the first time.]
I'm sorry, Hoffman. In advance. For anything she says, and for -
[Can't look at the camera anymore.]
Sorry.
[OOC: Tagging will be slow-ish, as I'm starting the moving process today.]
