Which School?!?

Alright, so for all of you that are still reading this thing, I have a question for you guys and would appreciate some response. I finally got my Financial Aid letters from all the Grad Schools I got accepted to. Yale is $39,000 PER YEAR, Indiana is $29,482 - Indiana's $7750 Merit Scholarship, UCSB is $21,654 per year - my $5,000 fellowship. On ( Read more... )

Haha u have to remember I went to UCSB, and yes I think it's somewhat laidback but that just means u have a lot of time for selfmotivation and exploring your own interests.

But if I were you and were chosing between Yale and Indiana, I'd wait for the orientation sessions and see how well they treat their students.

I can't afford to fly to Yale's open-house, but I will try to fly to Indiana and take the train to SB's.

You can't afford NOT to go to Yale's open house. How do you plan to make a decision without first going to the school?

You should fly to all of them. This is a really expensive decision and you shouldn't scrimp at this point.

I would go to Yale for prestige or Santa Barbara for fun :) Indiana is ranked high in that field, but unless you plan to go into academia then nobody really knows the rankings... but they know that Yale is Yale.

why is yale sooooooo expensive???? :-/...

you can go to SB so we can go boogie boarding ( not really). like someone said, go to the orientation sessions.
