For a moment Spike's expression is blank but not in that artfully crafted way but more in that I'm trying to figure out what has just happened to my world sort of way.
"Was lookin' for Buffy but I wouldn't mind a look at the land of luxury."
"Y'act as if I'd make it easy for you, just roll over."
Spike chuckles softly, leaning in toward her, "If it came to it, I promise I wouldn't make it easy." He allows the words to hang there for a moment before he leans back.
"No, it doesn't bother me. Wouldn't want things to get boring."
Reaching up, he tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, "No need to get maudlin about it, pet." He leans back into the seat, a lopsided smile on his lips, "We'd both go 'round the bend with an average life. We're not average people."
"N'just 'tween you n'me, I wasn't much normal when I was 'normal'."

"As I said, whatever you want luv. I'm here to show you a good time." This time, though, in the car, he's moved a little closer to her, not quite as distant as he has been so far.

"This is what I want to do. You think I'm the sort to sit around doing something I'm not enjoying?" His hand lightly rests just above her knee in a motion that is almost casual.

"Spike! It's been ages. How are you?"
He's put on a faux-"upper crust" accent, particularly for the last sentence, as he uses the pipestem to point at the vampire.
"Come by to check out the Grotto?"

He produces a notepad from the stand near the door, proudly displaying a hand-drawn 'blueprint' that he's clearly spent a few hours on.
"Now here's the question - should the mud pit and the Jell-O pit be side by side, or separated to spread around the fun?"

Spike leans in to look at the blueprint a little more closely.

It's what she used to think she wanted, and what she was somewhat expecting to have after Sunnydale exploded.
Expecting for about 5 minutes, before Giles mentioned Cleveland. And then the girls started dying.
Looking down at her hands, she purses her lips and then looks back up at him, a slight almost-resigned smile on her lips.
"I would hope that neither of us would make it easy for the other, if it came down to it."

"In my admittedly limited experience with dating, both of the people involved get to have a good time. Tell me what you want to do."
