My biggest problem was the end. I think Sandman and Venom were more important then Harry, because Sandman and Peter reflected each others sense of obligation to their loved one (Sandman's daughter:Uncle Ben). Eddy was Peters shadow. They were both tempted but the power of pure rage. Peter gives it up because he doesn't want to hurt the ones he loves and he know he has inner strength, but Eddy is the opposite, he only cares about himself, and feels weak. So the symbiont is a way to find strength. I think it is all a metaphor of inner conflict, and the obligation we must endure.
Harry's place in the story was only there because it was so strongly built up in the first two movie. And what happens with him does no justice to his character compared to the comics.
But this could just be the crazy ravings of aa mad man.

And no matter what they try, Harry will never...EVER be as badass as Stormin' Norman.

They could have done the whole movie with just Harry.
