It's been a bit of forever since I've posted-posted and I think the weight of the time and the unwritten is making it more and more difficult to post. So this is my gateway post (like marijuana, not the computer). I'll post little bits of things rather than a doctoral summation of the past year+ over the next few weeks and see how it feels

How about instant oatmeal or cream of wheat? That was one of my standbys while pregnant and sick all the time, and it's easy to transport, too. I also used to make a big pot of soup on Sunday and eat that through the week. I'd make a basic chicken stock with veggies, then add different things for different days (pasta, rice, etc.) so it wouldn't get too boring. You could also bring wraps -- tortillas (I love the spinach ones) filled with chicken, veggies, cheese, whatever.
I can't stand those frozen microwave meals, either. I don't know how people live on them.

Wraps are good but I'm starting with baby steps and they sound overwhelmingly perfect. :)
Thanks for the welcome. I've been thinking about you both and your upcoming decision/s. There aren't wrong decisions, just different paths. I wish you the best no matter which path you end up following.

I like the small bits of things. They seem far more palatable.
You know, you /are/ cute when you're crabby. However, having been the queen of crabby tonight on my way home from work, I don't wish it from the inside out on anyone.
You going to the new 007 this week?

I'm not quite to that level of proficiency. Someday.
Lunch on a playground the the WoD sounds nice. However, I think that moths and roly-polys might be the preferred snack there.

Sand Witches are certainly conquerable by one of your Mastery level, I am sure...
But I too miss lunches on playgrounds with cobwebs and special molds in the box...
I have read your more-recent post as well and am now keen to hear more on your plans for Ged... If introducing him to your new "youth group" through your re-invented wheel is on the cards, I'm going to have to put my hand up and agree with another poster - You're a teacher I would have loved to have too.
Here's holding thumbs the new situation quietly gets better and better with age, just like moldy cheeses and cobwebbed crackers. And even if it doesn't I'll still be sat here waiting at lunch times to share what I have with you.

MMMMMmmn moldy cheese and cobwebby crackers. Just what the hoarse wisp of a woman ordered.
And thanks.

Might you have a link to a picture of your no-longer-a-puppy wolf hound? :)
I'm a big fan of lunch. Never skip it. I have noticed days I eat Japanese or a salad are the days I feel the best through the afternoon. Carb heavy meals induce the "lizard effect" - the desire to find a hot rock and curl up around it. Probably not a good thing for a teacher to be fighting. On the other hand, neither is a blood-sugar crash. I hope you find something that works.
Oh, interesting you're reading Le Guin. I almost read a book by her two weeks ago. I had "The Dispossessed" in my hands but opted for guilty-pleasure Space Opera from Lois McMaster Bujold. Somehow that seems wrong, but oh well. :)

I don't. But I'll post a few soon.
There's something about teaching that brings out the adrenalin. You make it through and then turn into a lizard afterward. :) I wish a Benihana would open up in my school's parking lot. I'd be eating just fine, then.
I read this one years ago and remembered loving it. It's now part of a school thing, and I'm rediscovering it. I know Skyschemer read 'The Dispossessed' but don't remember his opinion.
As for guilty pleasures? I'm ALL for them. And as for the school fruit-basket-upset? I'm convinced it's a global conspiracy to keep me from having time and inclination to continue with Gravity's Rainbow.
