Summary: Christmas is fast approaching in the Snyder-Mayer household.
AN: I always tend to use more description than dialogue in my stories. So I thought, having seen this kind of thing done before, that I'd just use dialogue for a bit of fun. Hope you enjoy this fluffy Christmas Drabble.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year!
“Mmmmh. Luuuke! Is that…? Can I smell French Roast?”
“Uh.. huh.”
“And are they…mmmh…. ah… cinnamon croissants I can smell too?!”
“Uh.. huh. Just the way you like them!”
“With extra chocolate chips?”
“Uh… huh. And you know… they'd smell even better if you came out from under the duvet. You might even be able to taste one too!”
“Huh?! OK. OK, I’m coming. Mmm… that coffee is so good, Luke!”
“There you are! There's my big guy! Have I ever told you how cute you look when you've just woken up... with your hair all messed up like that and that half-dazed expression on your face?”
“Gee thanks, Luke! You sure know how to make a guy feel good about himself… telling me I look a mess!”
“Ah Noooah! It was a compliment! You look adorable… and those lips. Mmmmh. So… mmm… kissable… mmm. You know I love you!”
“Mmmmh. Keep that up… and… mmmm… uh… I won't want to get up.”
“Funny… you've never had that problem before!”
“You know that's not what I meant! Um? Luke? Why is it so dark in here? What time is it? Luuuuke! It's 6:30 AM? Why am I awake so early on a Sunday? Better yet… why are you awake so early on a Sunday?!”
“You know why. We're putting up the tree and the decorations today. You promised last night! Don't tell me you've forgotten already, it was only last night!”
“Well… I know I promised and you were kind of distracting me at the time, but I don't remember agreeing to get up so early!”
“But, Noah, we've got lots to do and there's no time like the present!”
“I don't really see why we have to put them up anyway. It's not like we're going to be here, Luke. We’re heading back home for Christmas in a couple of days.”
“Aww come on, Noah . Don't be such a Scrooge. Mmmm… you… uh… taste like coffee… mmm. I know we're heading back home but… I… I just don't like to think of this place all cold and lonely without some Christmas cheer while we're away.”
“You’re such a dork, Luke!”
“And yet you still love me. Mmmm… we should buy… ah… this coffee… uh… more often.”
“Daddy! Poppy! Can we put the tree up now? Is it time yet? Is it… is it?”
“Slow down Max… no running. We're inside remember.”
“Sorry Poppy! Is it time yet?”
“We're just waiting for Daddy to get up.”
“Come on Daddy! It's not time to sleep now, it's time to put the tree up.”
“Whoa… easy there little guy. Ugh… watch where you're putting your feet. Ouch!"
“Sorry Daddy. Me and Poppy made some special decorations for our tree. One for each of us.”
“Yeah? You did? What are they?”
“I can't tell you! You have to come and see!”
“OK… OK! Let me just finish my coffee and I'm there.”
“Max, why don't you go choose what you want to wear today while Daddy gets up?”
“OK Poppy. Hurry Daddy!”
“Ouch! Slow down, Max! You know… he kind of reminds me of somebody!”
“Hmmm! Can't imagine who! Soooo… are you going to get up now, Bubby? I'll… mmm… make it… huh… worth your while!”
“Luuuke… mmm… don’t stop… that… hmmm… feels… so good! Hey you stopped! That's not fair. Why’d you stop?”
“It was just a taster for later… if you're good boy. Call it a bit of an incentive!”
“Now you're not playing fair! And don't think I don't know that you guys double teamed me.”
“Who? Us? Nah… never. And don't think that I don't know that you love all this. You love all this Christmas madness and mayhem as much as I do… and you know it! So are you coming, Noah? I'll even let you put up the mistletoe.”
“Huh! Now you're definitely not playing fair!”
