It was a very simple "x-trait is sex linked recessive. If a female fly who is red-eyed homozygous mates with a white eyed male, then the F1 generation are mated to each other, what will be the eye color distribution in the F2 generation?" or something to that effect. It was very clear what was being asked and I'm sure I got it right, but I just remember they phrased it such that they were calling the female homozygous for the phenotype, not the genotype. I was so fried after the exam I can't even remember what both essay prompts were, so I'm sure I'm mangling the phrasing of the question.
