Airport reflection bem_ly February 3 2008, 18:07:32 UTC
The airport definitely caters to the town. The D.C. airport has secret doors marked by white-house-esque columns and a political feel, PDX is green and blue, just as you described it with the animal prints, the airport in New Zealand that I visited for about three hours was covered in kiwi birds. My last experience in the Houston airport my plane had been delayed five or six hours, so I got off hoping for a hotel voucher and apparently missed the voucher people, which left me on a sidewalk hailing the cheapest motel cab. The escalators are one way, and you have to walk around the outside of the building to find the up one or try to run up the down one (which isn't a good idea, by the way, especially with bags). Airports a charming hassle. Everything can go wrong, but what makes up for the trouble is the destination.
