Whoooo, me?

Yesterday I got it in my head, after seeing a crocheted hat that looked like an owl - that I must make one. My intention was to make it for one of the kids, but I spaced out when I was making the crown and it just went huge. Like, pumpkin huge. So it's for me ( Read more... )

Hi, I love your hat!

I got a message you just added me! You're a foster mom too? How did you find me?

Thanks! :)

I looked you up -- back awhile ago we actually used to chat on occasion, back when I had a site hosted on Warped (forever ago). You probably don't remember me, but I used to have an LJ account under the name of Christina (before I gave it away), then as incarnation. It was a whole lot of years ago. :)

I am a foster mom, too! I have a son that we adopted this past July via foster care - and we currently have a foster daughter (13 mos., we've had her since she was 4 mos.)

ARE you kidding me, of COURSE I remember you! That's crazy!

I am in limbo hell with my license, we're going on 9 months with the whole process :( I was told that once I bring in two more pieces of paper tomorrow and sign something we'll have our first placement in a week or so. ::crosses fingers::

Congratulations on your family!! Wow.. another foster mom, what a trip!

Thanks adding me!

Yay! How sweet are you?

I empathize so deeply with your situation. We applied in Jan 2006 and were finally certified in May 07. Within 10 days we got our first placement. We were hoping for an adoption situation, and we were so fortunate. Eight months after our son, we got 16 phone calls regarding various placements. Sixteen. We said yes to every single one of them, but by the time our agency got back to DCFS (or vice versa) they all fell through. Sixteen was the charm, though. We got a call on a little girl, was told she would probably end up returning to family after the 72 hr hearing, and nine months later we're counting down to the hearing for termination of parental rights.

Are you going to be a foster-only family, fost-adopt, or wait and see? I'd love to hear your story! :)

THANK YOU for sharing that article! I didn't realize this was even under consideration - that is wonderful. I'll be keeping an eye out for further outcomes.

Big hug, Courtney! Thanks! :)
