Thhis really made me think. This is So true, and I think that alot of things could chang for the better so that "the youth is wasted on our young" is no longer true. I Find my self talking to people at school oblibivious to many things going on in the world right now, just cought up in how trashed they got last weekend. Even better when i asked the girl i sit next to in spanish why she never comes to school, she replied "I am always trippin on Shrooms." This makes me sad, and things need to change for the better.

your youth is suppose to be your time of learning and growing. its not wasted on anything. you are right that people waste time on drugs and other things that arent good for them, but this is our time to learn and not our time to change the world, we dont know enough yet to change the world because thats what it seems like people mean when they say youth is wasted on us. no its not, you can still be healthy at an older age and do great things over 18. anyone who says youth is wasted on the young is a hypocrite. they did the same while they were young so therefore that gives them a right to belittle what our generation does now? i dont think so. what can a 15 year old do when he/she cant even vote. plant a tree and save the world? maybe. this is the time that we grow and learn how to use what we know to do great things. not our time to pay medicaid for the older generation who scolds us now for wasting our youth.

Youth doesn't necessarily mean under 18. youth is the point of our lives when we are the most energetic, healthy and passionate. It's not exactly about changing the world, it's just about getting out and doing something with your life. getting off your butt and making some kind of difference, and not wasting your money, time, or mind on drugs. And don't underestimate kids. You can do pretty much anything you put your mind too. better to spend you time "learning" elsewhere than in front of a television.

I am WAY different! I havent done drugs... let alone seen them! And the ONE party I went to in my high school years lasted about 10 minutes! Drinking... never! Smoked... nope... It's so hard and I am not perfect no matter how hard I try. And I am like you. I always look for the answers to everything. It took me a long time to realize there is always going to be what if's. what if i did drink. But what if i didnt... you know? You arent always going to get an answer to everything right away, but in the end when you stop looking for the answers, they will find you. Smile. Everything has its good and bads... the thing you could change is to start noticing more of the good. :) I swear youll be so much happier!
